Look, I’ve stayed in my share of Bologna hotels, and honestly? This place caught me off guard in the best way. Urbanicooh Azzoguidi sits right on Via Clavature – you know, that narrow street where you can practically touch the buildings on both sides if you stretch your arms out. It’s on the fifth floor, which means you’re getting a proper workout if the elevator’s acting up (thankfully it wasn’t during my stay), but man, once you’re up there, you get why they put “Torre Asinelli View” right in the name.

The thing about this spot is that it actually delivers on the tower views – I mean, you’re literally staring at one of Bologna’s most famous landmarks from your window. But what really got me was how they’ve managed to create this modern, almost minimalist space in what’s clearly an old building. The contrast works somehow. You’ve got these clean lines and contemporary furnishings, but then you look out and there’s medieval Bologna right there. The rooms are surprisingly quiet too, considering you’re smack in the middle of everything – Via Clavature can get busy during the day with locals heading to the market area, but by evening it settles down nicely.

What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. You’re literally two minutes from Piazza Maggiore if you cut through the right alleyways (which the front desk guy actually drew out on a little map for me – nice touch). The whole Quadrilatero area is right there, so you can grab morning coffee at one of those tiny bars locals actually use, not just the tourist spots. I found myself popping down to Via Pescherie Vecchie for lunch almost daily because, well, why wouldn’t you when some of the city’s best food is a three-minute walk away? The staff seemed to get that most guests aren’t just passing through – they’re here to actually experience Bologna, not just sleep somewhere convenient. They had solid recommendations that felt genuine, not like they were reading from a script. Sure, the building’s got that old-world charm that means slightly creaky floors and the occasional quirk, but honestly, that’s part of what makes staying here feel authentic rather than sterile. For what you’re getting – that location, those views, and a genuinely comfortable base for exploring the city – it’s pretty solid value.

  The location and host are top notch. The apartment itself was nice and comfortable. Overall a good value for bologna.
  
  What could be improved: You have to take two series of steep stairs and an elevator to get to the property. Making it somewhat difficult. The bathroom could use a deep cleaning with Clorox since it had mold all over the shower. Some of the fixtures were broken.
