You know what struck me first about Turris Apartments? It’s tucked right on Via Riva di Reno, which honestly sounds more impressive than it initially looks – but that’s exactly what makes it perfect. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but you’re on this quieter street that doesn’t get the tourist foot traffic chaos. The building itself has that classic Bolognese elegance without being stuffy about it.

The apartments here are actually apartments, not hotel rooms masquerading as such. When I walked into mine, there was this immediate sense of “oh, I could actually live here for a while.” The kitchen wasn’t just for show – proper fridge, real counter space, and they’d stocked it with decent coffee (crucial in Bologna, trust me). The bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works, and the water pressure was surprisingly good for a historic building. What really got me though was the attention to small things – proper hangers in the closet, enough outlets near the bed, blackout curtains that actually block light. You don’t realize how rare that stuff is until you’ve stayed in places that skip those details.

Location-wise, this is where local knowledge really pays off. You’re about a two-minute walk from Via del Pratello, which is where Bolognesi actually go for drinks – not touristy, just good bars with proper aperitivo spreads. The morning market at Mercato delle Erbe is maybe five minutes away, and honestly, grabbing fresh bread and prosciutto there beats any hotel breakfast. Parking can be tricky in this area (it’s ZTL restricted during the day), but the staff actually knows which garage to recommend and how to get the permits sorted – saved me a headache and probably a hefty fine. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings, especially on weekends, but it’s university-town lively, not drunk-tourist lively, if you know what I mean. I actually enjoyed hearing the buzz of conversation drifting up from the street – made the place feel alive rather than isolated. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and when my original apartment had a minor issue with the heating, they moved me to another unit within an hour, no drama. That 8.8 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Bologna, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just sleeping.
