Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Bologna apartments over the years, but this penthouse on Via dell’Arcobaleno is something else entirely. The moment you step onto that panoramic terrace – and I mean the very moment – you’re staring straight at the Due Torri like they’re posing just for you. It’s the kind of view that makes you forget you’re juggling your suitcase and fumbling for your phone camera at the same time.

The location is honestly brilliant, though you might not realize it at first glance. Via dell’Arcobaleno isn’t one of those touristy streets everyone talks about, but that’s actually perfect. You’re tucked away from the crowds stumbling around Piazza Maggiore, yet it’s maybe a seven-minute walk to get there when you want to. The street itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open (rare in Italian city centers, trust me), and there’s this little osteria around the corner that I stumbled upon purely by accident – locals only, incredible tortellini en brodo. The building’s entrance is unassuming, which I appreciated after dealing with some overly grand hotel lobbies that feel like performance art.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to make it feel both luxurious and livable. The terrace isn’t just Instagram-worthy – though it absolutely is – it’s actually functional. You can have your morning espresso out there, work on your laptop in the afternoon shade, then watch the sun set behind the towers with a glass of Sangiovese. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a very stylish friend’s place than a typical rental. Everything works properly (novel concept, I know), the Wi-Fi is solid, and they’ve clearly thought about the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days rather than just passing through. The kitchen is well-equipped enough that I ended up cooking a few meals instead of eating out every night, which honestly saved me a fortune and gave me an excuse to explore the local markets. One small thing – the building doesn’t have an elevator, so if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, just be prepared for a bit of a climb. But once you’re up there and see that view, you’ll forget all about the stairs.

  The apartment is very nice and well equipped, spacious and modernly furnished. The towels and sheets that were provided were clean and there was coffee waiting for us which is perfect for tourists just off the road.
  In addition, the apartment is very close to center of Bologna and it offers free parking in the front.
  The host was very friendly and helpful. Communication was easy as we received responses almost instantly.
  We will recommend this accommodation and will absolutely return on our next visit.

  The penthouse is extremely spacious and had all of the amenities you would expect from such a property. The temperature in Bologna was quite high and humid so the A/C was very welcome and kept the whole apartment cool very quickly ( a bonus). The inside of the apartment was very clean and tidy, there are many house rules but this is to be expected when trying to maintain a top quality pad!!!!
  Federico was always in touch to make sure we had everything, especially the property access instructions, great that the host will make time and respond to any questions or just plain and simple advice.
  Nearby shops and restaurants are worth checking out.
  The place was great for cooking and dining in, huge TV and just about all of the home comforts you would expect
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing not to like about this place, it was a 25-30 minute walk into town but a good transport network was also available.

  Centrally located very safe neighborhood close to restaurants , pastry/coffee shop.
  Property is very comfortable, clean and has all amenities needed including WiFi. The hosts respond within the hour to any messages which is quick compared to other places I stayed. I would definitely stay here again . There's a supermarket within 10 minutes walking distance. There's MIMIS restaurant two blocks away that is molto delicioso and the staff is excellent.

  The apartment is beautiful, and the view of Bologna is spectacular during the day and even better at night! We had easy access to the city as we rented a car and walked a lot too! We wished we'd spent more time here as we didn't get to see all that Bologna has to offer. My day at Ferrari was the highlight of my trip! My wife loved the pasta making class she took too!
