Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Tartini Lofts” on Via Giuseppe Tartini, I wasn’t expecting much from this little street in San Donato. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are tucked away in these residential Bologna neighborhoods where actual people live, not just tourists stumbling around with gelato.

The lofts themselves are pretty slick – I mean, they’ve got that industrial-chic thing going on without being too try-hard about it. High ceilings, exposed elements, the works. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re only about 15 minutes from the city center if you hop on the bus (the 14 line stops practically at your doorstep, which locals will tell you is gold). The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little osteria on Via Toscana that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it was better than half the tourist traps near Piazza Maggiore.

Here’s the thing about staying in San Donato that most people don’t realize: you get to see how Bologna actually works. There’s a morning market nearby where nonnas are genuinely shopping for dinner, not posing for Instagram. The whole area has this lived-in feel that you miss when you’re staying right in the centro storico. Sure, you’ll need to plan your evening returns a bit more carefully – the buses don’t run as frequently after 10 PM – but that’s a small trade-off for not having drunk university students stumbling past your window at 2 AM (and trust me, that happens a lot in the main tourist zones). The rooms are well-designed with good storage space, which sounds boring but matters when you’re living out of a suitcase. The kitchen setups are actually functional too, not just for show, and there’s a decent-sized Conad supermarket about a five-minute walk away if you want to grab supplies. Parking was surprisingly manageable for Bologna standards – they’ve got arrangements with nearby spots, though I’d definitely confirm the details when you book. The 8.3 rating feels about right; it’s solidly good without being flashy, and the location grows on you once you realize you’re experiencing a more authentic slice of the city. Plus, when you do venture into the historic center, you’ll appreciate returning to somewhere that feels less like a tourist fishbowl and more like a place where you could actually imagine living.

  What could be improved: das Bett muss unbedingt erneuert werden, es ist viel zu weich und knarzt extrem, was nachts immer alle wach gemacht hat beim umdrehen/aufstehen

  Posizione fantastica in una zona fornita di tutto, a pochissimi passi da molteplici fermate degli autobus, l'aeroporto si raggiunge in 15 minuti massimo in macchina. La struttura moderna, insonorizzata, pulita e dotata di macchinetta del caffè con cialde.

  Апартаменты оснащены всем необходимым для жизни. Очень тепло (мы путешествовали в феврале), удобная парковка. Для недолгого пребывания лучше и не придумать!

  The location is good because you have quick access to the main bus lines. 20 minutes walking distance to the fair grounds which is also nice.
