The lobby smells faintly of espresso and something floral – probably from the small courtyard I glimpsed through a window.

What really won me over was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a four-star place. The suites (and they’re actually proper suites, not just renamed hotel rooms) have these beautiful hardwood floors that creak just slightly when you walk across them – in a charming way, not annoying. The kitchenettes are fully equipped, which is clutch because Bologna’s markets are incredible and you’ll want to bring back prosciutto and Parmigiano to snack on. I mean, room service is great, but there’s something about making yourself a proper Italian breakfast with ingredients from Mercato di Mezzo that just hits different. The beds are seriously comfortable too – I’m talking sink-in-and-disappear comfortable, with these crisp white linens that somehow stay cool even in summer.

The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds obvious but isn’t always the case. When I asked about avoiding the tourist traps for dinner, the guy at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic map – he drew me a little route to this osteria near Via del Pratello that locals actually go to. Plus, they sorted out parking for me, which if you’ve ever driven in Bologna’s centro storico, you know is basically a miracle. The whole place has this 9.3 rating, and honestly, it’s earned. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop pools – you’re paying for a genuinely comfortable stay in one of Italy’s best food cities, with people who care about getting the details right. It’s the kind of place where you can decompress after a day of wandering Bologna’s endless porticoes, maybe plan your next day’s eating itinerary (because let’s be real, that’s why you’re here), and actually feel like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through it.

  Appartamento grande, silenzioso, ristrutturato da poco, pulito, letti molto comodi, tutti i confort che ci servivano.
  Host molto disponibile, ci ha accolto prima Dell'orario del check in e tenuto i bagagli dopo il check out.
  Raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione, in centro storico e a meno di 10 minuti a piedi da piazza Maggiore.

  Velmi krasny apartman, novy, cisty, postele su velmi pohodlne , v apartmane su dve izby s manzelskou postelou v jednej izbe je pristelka a v spolocenskej miestnosti je pohovka vhodna na prespanie, dve plne vybavene kupelne, vratane pracky a susicky, v kuchyni je perfektne vybaveny ranajkovy pult , poloha je v kludnejsej ulici a stale len kúsok od centra , majitelka bola napomocna , trosku sme mali problem pri otvarani skrinky na kluce ale nic co by sa nedalo zvladnut .
