Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Bologna apartments, and San Vitale 5 Stelle actually lives up to its name – which honestly surprised me a bit given how many places throw around “luxury” these days. The building sits right on Via San Vitale, and if you know Bologna at all, you’ll get why this location is kind of perfect. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but somehow you avoid all the tourist chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of things.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Italian aunt decided to rent out her place – and I mean that in the best possible way. Everything’s been recently updated (the bathroom fixtures actually work properly, thank god), but they kept enough character that you remember you’re in a centuries-old building. The ceilings are high enough that you don’t feel cramped, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with summer heat. Speaking of which, the AC actually keeps up, unlike some places I’ve endured around here. What really got me was the kitchen setup – it’s compact but everything you need is there, plus they stock it with decent coffee, which honestly saved my mornings since I’m not great at navigating before caffeine.

Here’s what you should know though: the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings since there are some bars nearby, but it’s not crazy loud – more like pleasant background hum of people actually living their lives. Parking is… well, it’s Bologna, so forget about street parking and use the Staveco garage about five minutes away. The hosts are responsive (they answered my panicked WhatsApp about the washing machine within like ten minutes), and check-in was smooth even though I showed up later than planned. You’re close enough to walk to basically everything worth seeing – the university area, all the good food spots on Via del Pratello, even the train station if you don’t mind a fifteen-minute stroll. I mean, you could easily spend your entire stay just wandering the streets radiating out from this spot and never get bored. The 8.6 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be some over-the-top luxury experience, but everything works, it’s comfortable, and the location really can’t be beat if you want to feel like you’re staying in actual Bologna rather than tourist Bologna.

  The property was in a great locatio just a 5-minute walk to the city center. The apartment itself was very new, modern, and surprisingly spacious, which made our stay comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: We had a rough start with this apartment. When we arrived, the host hadn’t sent us all the necessary check-in details, so we were stuck waiting outside for about 30 minutes until he answered the phone and provided the information. After that, the host was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay.
  
  The living room was quite small for an apartment meant for 5 people. It felt a bit cramped, but I understand there’s not enough space for a larger sofa. Overall, the stay was okay, but the check-in experience could definitely be improved.

  Wunderbare, moderne Unterkunft im Herzen von Bologna, alles war sehr sauber, geräumig auch für viele Personen geeignet, Kommunikation mit den Host war sehr easy
