I mean, you can literally stroll to the university area in about ten minutes, and the way the morning light hits those old buildings on your walk… it’s the kind of thing that makes you stop and actually take a photo instead of just rushing past.

The place itself feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. Studio Vita clearly knows what they’re doing – there’s this really thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, from the way they’ve preserved some original architectural elements (the exposed brick in some rooms is gorgeous) to the modern touches that actually make sense for travelers. Honestly, I was expecting something more sterile given how sleek it looks online, but it’s surprisingly warm. The rooms have this lived-in quality that’s hard to fake, and the beds are properly comfortable – not just firm for the sake of being firm, you know? Plus, the soundproofing is solid, which matters because Bologna can get pretty lively, especially when the students are around.

What really sets this place apart though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to Via del Pratello that you can easily hit up those fantastic little osterie for dinner (there’s this one place about a five-minute walk away that does incredible tortellini in brodo), but you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The area has that authentic Bologna rhythm – locals heading to work in the morning, kids playing in the small piazzas, the occasional delivery truck rumbling by. It’s real life, not a tourist bubble. And parking – well, it’s Bologna, so street parking is what it is, but the staff actually gave me solid advice about the zones and timing that saved me from getting a ticket. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, it’s just genuinely well-run and thoughtfully designed. If you’re the type who wants to experience Bologna like you actually live there for a few days, rather than just checking off the tourist boxes, this is your spot.

  It was a convenient location – a 10-15 minute walk to the Central Station, for day trips to Ferrara, Ravenna, Modena etc, a 15-20 minute walk in to the centre of Bologna, and a good supermarket just over the road. It's not a particularly picturesque area of Bologna, but it's ideally placed for getting out and about.
  It was really useful to be able to leave luggage with the company in the city on the day of departure for free.
  It's reasonably equipped.
  Staff were helpful when there was a slight problem with the toilet.

  What could be improved: verouderde douche en douchescherm in het bad,
  oncomfortabele stoelen, onfrisse deken, gedateerde inrichting. Batterij op in afstandsbediening airco (we hadden geen zin om te bellen, hebben we zelf maar vervangen) klokken die stilstaan (ook op batterij)) en gebruiksaanwijzingen in info map van vorige apparatuur.

  Veramente spaziosa, pulita e ben collegata con stazione e aeroporto e con luoghi di svago/cena. La struttura ha tutti i tools per un soggiorno comodo anche per diversi giorni.

  From here we were able to visit most cities easily, 2 hours from Rome, Rimini (visited San Marino from here) Verona, Venice. Trenitalia links on high speed train were excellent and great rates.
  
  What could be improved: Can't really fault the apartment, however shower screen didn't close properly so made floor wet. There were plenty of towels to dry it though. Everything else was fantastic.
