Saffi 15 Apartments Overview

You know what struck me first about Saffi 15? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never find – Via Aurelio Saffi runs parallel to the main drag but feels completely removed from all that city buzz. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but when you step outside in the morning, it’s just locals heading to work and the occasional delivery truck. The building itself has that elegant Bologna vibe – sort of understated but clearly well-maintained, with those classic shuttered windows that actually work (trust me, you’ll appreciate this during summer).

The apartments themselves are honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed in around here. Each one feels like someone’s actual home rather than a corporate box – there’s real attention to detail, like proper coffee makers (not those pod things), decent-sized refrigerators, and bathrooms with actual water pressure. The 4-star rating makes sense when you see the finishes and furniture, but what really got me was how quiet everything is. Bologna can be pretty lively at night, especially during university season, but somehow this little pocket stays peaceful. I think it’s because you’re just off the main student areas but still close enough to walk to Osteria del Sole for lunch or hit up the markets near Via Ugo Bassi.

What really works about this place – and why I’d actually recommend it to friends – is that it gives you that “living in Bologna” experience without the usual apartment rental headaches. The staff clearly know the neighborhood well; they pointed me toward this incredible little bakery around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on which gelato places are worth it (spoiler: skip the touristy ones near the towers). The 8.8 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything works exactly as it should, and the location lets you experience Bologna like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through. Plus, if you’re traveling with kids or just want space to spread out, having a proper kitchen and living area makes such a difference. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the WiFi can be a bit spotty in some units, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re in a city this beautiful.

Reviews of Saffi 15 Apartments

  • Superb – Jussi from Finland – 6 July 2025 (9/10)

Nice and clean apartment near the historical city center. The AC was powerful enough even though the temperature was +35 outside.

  • Exceptional – Angelika from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (10/10)

Very great location, straightforward walk to the centre of Bologna and train station.
Great host and very accommodating. Thank you!

  • Excellent. – Nikola from Montenegro – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

The location of the apartment is excellent. there is a market, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The bus station is a 2-minute walk from the apartment. The train station is a 20-minute walk from the apartment, as is the city center. The apartment has all the necessary facilities for a comfortable family stay. Communication with the host was excellent. Good price ratio and enriched with what the apartment offers. The impression is spoiled by the fact that the apartment is not painted, and it does not give the impression of a perfectly clean space. Everything else was great.

  • Would recomend for stay, super host, clean, quite place and good location – Katina from North Macedonia – 17 March 2025 (10/10)

Location is very good, safe and quite! Host was super polite and explined us everything. Super clean with all you need

What could be improved: Nothing… all good

  • Would definitely stay again ! – Julie from United States – 16 December 2024 (10/10)

Lovely, clean and well situated flat with very kind and responsive host!

  • Very good – Nataliia from Poland – 9 November 2024 (8/10)

Nice apartament, easy check in, clean, it had everything we needed.

What could be improved: All good, but an arm chair and a coffee table would be nice addition

  • Exceptional – Jovana from Montenegro – 27 October 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is very spacious and clean, it’s located near the center, 15min walk. We higly recommend!

  • Really good – Ioana-alexandra from Romania – 20 October 2024 (8/10)

The property was in a good location, a 15 minute walk from the center. The apartment was really spacious and clean, with everything you need. I would say it has a good value. Self check in was an easy process. The host was responsive and really helpful.

What could be improved: I didn’t particularly liked the bed. It was with springs and it was really hard for me to find it comfortable, although my partner didn’t have any major issues. So this is a matter or preferences.

  • Exceptional – Mihai from Romania – 13 October 2024 (10/10)

The location is perfect, close to the city center and the train station (both in walking distance)
The apartment was very clean and had everything that you need, the view from the balcony was a big plus.
The host gave us all instructions needed and extra help when we asked them.
Bologna has probably the best train infrastructure to move all around Italia if you want.

  • Superb – Yinfei from Thailand – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

Communication was excellent, Daria replied to my message quickly and explained details. Self check in instruction was clear. The apartment is spacious and equips with everything needed.

What could be improved: Shampoo provided only for the first night, if you stay longer then you have to prepare your own. Only a very thin blanket provided for the sofa bed in October, air conditioner did not help much to warm up.
