Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Bologna, and Loft Santo Stefano-Sant’Orsola actually surprised me. First off, the name’s a bit of a mouthful – it’s on Via Augusto Murri, which honestly isn’t the most glamorous street name, but you know what? Sometimes the best spots are tucked away where you wouldn’t expect them. The building itself has this industrial-chic thing going on that could either work really well or feel completely soulless, but somehow they nailed it.

What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night, which is honestly rare in Bologna. You’re close enough to the university area that you can walk to all the good stuff – I mean, you can actually reach Piazza Maggiore without breaking a sweat – but far enough out that you’re not dealing with drunk students stumbling around at 2 AM. The loft setup is pretty clever too; they’ve got these high ceilings that make even the smaller rooms feel spacious, and the windows are massive so you get tons of natural light during the day. I stayed there in October and would just sit by the window in the morning with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. There’s something really authentic about that part of town – you’ll see locals heading to work, not just tourists wandering around with maps.

The staff actually knows the area, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places just hand you a generic city map and call it a day. They pointed me toward this little osteria about three blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly it was better than half the restaurants in the more touristy areas. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving – the street parking fills up pretty quickly, especially on weekends – but they’ll help you figure out the closest garage. The whole check-in process was smooth, none of that awkward standing around while they hunt for your reservation. One thing that might bug some people is that the elevator’s pretty small, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, you might need to make a couple trips. But the rooms themselves? Really well thought out. The bathrooms have good water pressure (seriously underrated), and the beds are actually comfortable, not just expensive-looking. You can tell they put thought into the details instead of just throwing money at fancy finishes that don’t really matter.

  The location is great we can walk to the downtown and it’s quite easy to find delicious food nearby.And the landlord help us a lot on the taxi calling and alsobsome restaurant suggestion! Very importantly they help keep our samples before our arrival,that helps a lot for our exhibitions.

  To mój drugi pobyt w tym miejscu i wciąż planuję tu wracać. Jest w tym mieszkaniu coś, co sprawia, że czuję się tu dobrze. Jest przestronnie, czysto, projekt łazienki uwielbiam i to zdecydowanie mój ulubiony prysznic. Właściciel jest bardzo pomocny i sympatyczny.
  
  What could be improved: Schody do górnego mieszkania są bardzo niewygodne i pojawiło się kilka zacieków na ścianie w kuchni i na szufladzie w łazience. Poza tym, nie ma się do czego przyczepić.

  El alojamiento es fantástico, tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar y además el anfitrión es muy atento y amable. El colchón para dormir es comodísimo y la bañera y la ducha son geniales. La iluminación y aprovechamiento de espacios del piso nos encantó. Si volvemos a Bolonia repetiremos seguro!

  This is a beautiful one bedroom appartment with modern new quality furnishings and character accents tastefully blended, well equipped,in a quiet location close to historical Bologna, caffès and restaurants at your footstep.The host is very accommodating and responsive, and there is flawless high speed internet for those needing to work online.Overall this was an amazing stay in Bologna , felt like home.

  Locarion – Proximity to old town. The apartment was modern and clean and very comfortable with aircon and coffee machine etc. Lovely little balcony/terrace.
  
  What could be improved: Currently a building site but know that is temporary. The stairs going up to the loft were pretty difficult to negotiate with suitcase with unsafe handrail. Pillows not the greatest and could do with another set. Had to park in public spaces. Could drive into lane to drop bags off but otherwise had to find parking.
