Residence Studio Vita Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Residence Studio Vita? It’s actually tucked away on Via Marsala in a way that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals know about, but it’s literally a five-minute walk from Bologna Centrale station. I mean, you step out of the train station chaos and suddenly you’re on this quieter residential street that still buzzes with that authentic Bologna energy – none of that touristy hotel district feel you get in other cities.
The studio setup here is honestly perfect if you’re the type who gets claustrophobic in tiny European hotel rooms. These aren’t just rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner; they’re actual living spaces with proper kitchenettes where you can make decent coffee in the morning (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with Italian breakfast timing). The whole place has this modern residential vibe – clean lines, good lighting, and thank god, air conditioning that actually works during those sweltering summer months when Bologna turns into a furnace. I stayed there during late spring and kept the windows open at night; Via Marsala is busy enough to feel alive but not so crazy that you’re dealing with constant traffic noise.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re practically around the corner from Via dell’Indipendenza, which means you can walk to Piazza Maggiore in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close enough to the university area that you get those great little bars and trattorias that students actually frequent. There’s this fantastic little alimentari just down the street where I’d grab fresh bread and prosciutto – way better than hotel breakfast, honestly. The staff seemed to know the area inside and out; when I asked about avoiding the tourist traps, they pointed me toward places I never would have found on my own. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Bologna will tell you is basically a miracle. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have really good taste and kept everything spotlessly clean.

Reviews of Residence Studio Vita
Lovely central place to visit Bologna – Sharon from Malta – 6 July 2025 (9/10)
Quiet
Secure and safe
Staff was always very helpful
Spacious rooms
What could be improved: Some of the air conditioning units were not cooling well.Very good – Ciara from Ireland – 3 July 2025 (8/10)
The apartment was lovely. It was clean and perfect for our family. It was in a great location in the city.
What could be improved: I didn't like the way it was using the outdoor terrace as a selling point and probably to charge a little higher, too. This terrace is a communal.terrsce at the end of a corridor. It is not part of the apartment. There is a lot of building work going on outside the windows of the actual apartment.Great apparent close to city centre with sunny roof top terrace – David from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (9/10)
Lovely spacious apartment with sunny roof terrace. 10 min walk to Piazza Maggiore and plenty of great restaurants and bars close by.
What could be improved: We loved everything about it! There are some building works going around the apartment which detracted slightly from the ambience on the way in and out of building, however we did not hear or see any noise or disruption during our stay. Arriving after 8pm we used automated check in and did not see any staff during the two days we were there. This was fine for us as we were self sufficient and not looking for any advice. There was a WhatsApp number to contact had we had any queries.Staff in the office where extremely helpful and help with lots of questions we asked – Jenni from New Zealand – 14 June 2025 (9/10)
We loved the location and the apartment was very light a clean .
What could be improved: Just the stairsLovely spacious appartment in the centre of Bologna. – Sally from Switzerland – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Lovely appartment in the centre of Bologna. Spotlessly clean and well appointed we loved our stay and really appreciated the outside space, the cleanliness of the appartment and the super comfy beds. Would recommend.
What could be improved: There were building works in the appartment building (not the fault of Studio Villas) but it did wake us up very early.Exceptional – Da from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (10/10)
All great! Very clean, very organised company. And very comfortable place in the heart of Bologna.
What could be improved: All was great. We had a fantastic stay in this centrally located apartment in beautiful Bologna. – Kathleen from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (10/10)
The location. The apartment was very spacious. The share roof terrace was great.
What could be improved: A floor brush would have made it easier to keep the kitchen tidy. Wasted a lot of water waiting for the shower to run hot.Great apartment but needs sound proofing – Fi from Australia – 13 May 2025 (9/10)
Great apartment, kitchen had everything you need, bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: The noise you could hear from the next apartment – walls are paper thin so you could hear conversations etc.Great Stay – Clean, Comfortable & Central – Nicola from United Kingdom – 25 April 2025 (8/10)
It’s very close to the city centre, making it easy to get around and explore. The space was clean, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
Very good – William from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (8/10)
Pity about the renovation works, but it will be worth it to restore the building to its full charm. Well done!
