Residenza l’oasi Overview
You know what struck me first about Residenza l’oasi? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – it really does feel like a little oasis tucked away on Via Giovanni Amendola. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Bologna Centrale station, which honestly can be a bit chaotic with all the commuter traffic, but step through their doors and there’s this immediate sense of calm. The street itself is pretty typical Bologna – those beautiful porticoes that the city’s famous for, mixed with the kind of everyday bustle you get near the train station. But here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re there: you’re actually perfectly positioned between the historic center and the more modern parts of the city, so you can walk to Piazza Maggiore in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close to some excellent neighborhood trattorias that tourists never find.
The hotel itself has this sort of understated elegance that I really appreciated – it’s a solid 4-star property with an 8.9 rating, and honestly, I can see why. The rooms have this warm, contemporary feel without being sterile, and the staff actually seem to know the city well enough to give you proper recommendations (not just the obvious tourist spots). What I loved was how they’ve managed to keep that intimate boutique feel – you’re not dealing with massive crowds in the lobby or fighting for elevators. The breakfast setup is pretty impressive too, with local pastries and proper Italian coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around for hours. I stayed there during a particularly busy period in spring when Bologna was hosting some conference, and even then, the service never felt rushed or impersonal.
Actually, let me tell you what really sold me on this place – it’s those little details that show someone’s actually thinking about the guest experience. The soundproofing is genuinely good, which matters when you’re near a major transportation hub. The Wi-Fi actually works properly throughout the building (you’d be surprised how many Italian hotels still struggle with this). And the neighborhood… well, it’s got that perfect mix of authentic Bologna life without being touristy. There’s a fantastic aperitivo spot called Osteria del Sole just a short walk away, and if you’re into the local food scene, you’re close enough to Mercato delle Erbe to grab some incredible ingredients for a picnic. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be a bit tricky – Bologna’s city center has those ZTL restrictions, so you’ll want to ask about their parking arrangements when you book. But honestly, with the train station so close and the city being totally walkable, you probably won’t need a car anyway. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without paying through the nose for it.

Reviews of Residenza l’oasi
Superb – Carole from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
Super clean and quiet
What could be improved: NothingServed us well for the few nights we stayed in Bologna – Grace from Australia – 19 August 2024 (7/10)
Private quiet building with an updated interior
What could be improved: Lack of fresh air into room which often left it quite hot and aircon was not too powerful.Cozy and comfortable – Inessa from Greece – 25 April 2024 (10/10)
The location was very comfortable, next to the train station and 10-15min walking from the centre!!!
The check in was quick and easy, and Monica was very friendly and helpful!!
The apartment was comfortable for 3 person and it has everything we need!
We will definitely choose it for our next visit!!!The apartment was very easy to find and the team that rents it kept in touch with us since before our arrival until we l – Malina from Romania – 9 December 2023 (10/10)
The location ( literally 3 mins away from the train station and a 10 mins walk to the city center) was perfect. The room was spacious enough and the equipped with everything you might need (tit took us a bit to find out where the fridge was tho).
What could be improved: Nothing in particular 🙂Exceptional – Tsvetomir from Bulgaria – 4 November 2023 (10/10)
Excellent location, 20 meters from the train station. Very nice place to stay, had everything needed for a short stay. Equipped kitchen, utensils, coffee machine with complimentary capsules. Spacious bathroom with shower cabin. Quiet apartment with good insulation. I would gladly come back again.
Great little apartment close to Bologna Centrale Station – Natalie from United Kingdom – 11 October 2023 (9/10)
We liked how local it was to the train station and the local shops. The room was clean and had a lot of amenities. Nice and secure facility with 3 doors to go through to get into the room.
What could be improved: The only thing was that the fridge was not on when we got there and none of the switches are labelled so without asking the owner we were not able to turn it on or know of it was actually working. If the switches were labelled, it would be so much easier. 🙂 The Switch for the fridge if you have this issue is under the microwave (one is a light the other the fridge)Superb – Helen from Australia – 18 September 2023 (9/10)
The studio had all necessary facilities and was tastefully and artistically decorated.
Exceptional – Юля from Ukraine – 6 July 2023 (10/10)
I liked absolutely everything, clean apartments, wonderful staff, wonderful location, everything is nearby
Excellent apartment, and location – Kevin from United Kingdom – 3 July 2023 (8/10)
The apartment was well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We picked this location because the train station is right at your doorstep, which we planned for day trips to other cities as well as spending majority of our days in Bologna, and it isn't far from central Bologna (15-20mins walk). Plenty of shops and cafes around the area too.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the air-conditioning didn't seem to work properly even after a technician came to have a look at it but luckily a fan was provided which helped.Small, but very well orginized apartment – Marta from North Macedonia – 8 May 2023 (10/10)
The apartment is small but it is so well thought of that you have everything you need in such small space. Very well organized and super clean
