The B&B occupies this beautiful historic building, and when you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of intimacy that bigger hotels just can’t replicate. The owner clearly knows what they’re doing because every detail feels intentional, from the locally-sourced breakfast ingredients to the way they’ve restored the original architectural features without making it feel like a museum. The rooms have this perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort – think exposed beams and contemporary bathrooms that actually work properly.

What really sold me was the breakfast situation. I’m usually skeptical of hotel breakfasts, but they serve everything on actual ceramics (not plastic) and the coffee is properly Italian strong. You can sit in their little courtyard in the mornings, and it’s quiet enough to actually hear yourself think – which is rare in Bologna’s historic center. The staff gave me these great recommendations for aperitivo spots that weren’t overrun with tourists, including this tiny enoteca on Via del Pratello that I never would have found otherwise. Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s in the ZTL zone, but they help coordinate with a nearby garage, and honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The location puts you within walking distance of everything worth seeing, plus you’re close enough to the university area to find those authentic osterie where locals actually eat. One small thing – the rooms facing the street can get a bit noisy during the evening passeggiata, but that’s just Bologna being Bologna.   BSTAR is a dream. It is an experience that goes far beyond the simple overnight stay. Very elegant and refined furnishings. In full center very close to the famous 2 towers of Bologna. Perfect cleaning. In the rooms we found every kind of comfort and very clean. The owner has helped us with the most useful information to visit Bologna. We recommend!
