The street itself is quiet enough that you’ll sleep well (important in Bologna, trust me), but you’re still close enough to hear the gentle hum of city life. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab groceries at the local market on Via del Pratello – you can actually cook in these apartments, and the kitchen setup makes it worth doing.

The flat itself hits that sweet spot between apartment comfort and hotel service. The 4-star rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense – these guys clearly put thought into the details that matter. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in Italian rentals), and the shower pressure is surprisingly good for an older building. I loved that they’d stocked real coffee for the moka pot, not those terrible instant packets. The WiFi worked reliably, which saved me from hunting down cafes when I needed to get work done. Honestly, the whole setup felt thoughtfully designed by someone who travels themselves and knows what’s annoying about most accommodations. Check-in was smooth – they met me right at the building, showed me around properly, and gave me those insider tips you can’t get from websites (like which gelato place on Via Castiglione is worth the walk). The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not flashy luxury, but it’s the kind of place that just works really well, you know? Bologna can be tricky for parking, but they sorted that out with clear instructions, and the building entrance feels secure without being intimidating. If you’re planning to explore the city’s incredible food scene – and honestly, why else would you come to Bologna – this gives you the perfect home base to come back to after stuffing yourself with tortellini and Lambrusco.

  Well appointed. Excellent location for us. (Close to our family and center of town.
  
  What could be improved: 1. A/C was just adequate, even with a fan.
  2. Kitchen needs to be repaired (especially hinges).
  3. The bathroom, as it is the top floor of that section of the building is intolerably hot. It is not possible to cool it from the A/C without making the rest of the apartment hot.
  4. A few basic supplies, such as olive oil, salt and pepper should be supplied.
  5. Although not part of the apartment, it was upsetting to us that door of the apartment below us had been defaced with a swastika. We brought this to the attention of the owner (Eleanor’s). She voiced dismay but did not take action to cover it. It was very unpleasant to pass by this multiple times a day!
  6. It was difficult to operate the sofa bed.
  7. Suggest you provide instructions on use of the stove.

  Great location near places we wanted to go, comfortable bed, places to sit and eat, convenient washer and nice bathroom, lots of light. Our host met us at an unusual time (our flights were delayed, so we had to check in the next morning) and made an extra trip to bring us detergent for the washer. Excellent service!   Had a great time. We had a two hour early check in free of charge, so we didn't have to put our bags in any storage facilities. Place was nice, spacious and well kept. The gentleman who let us in was very helpful with recommendations of restaurants and city transport.
  
  What could be improved: Jut a minor thing – the official check-out was at 10:00, upon arrival we were told it was okay to leave by 10:30. The last day we went out for breakfast and left our bags behind the front door of the flat. When we came back at approx. 10:20, the cleaning lady was already there and had the front door open while she was cleaning the bathroom. Our bags were left by the door unattended. The main entrance to the building was closed, but we still felt like it woul've been wiser to leave the door closed when our possesions were right by them.
