The entrance feels more like stepping into a sophisticated urban apartment than a traditional hotel, which I actually prefer — there’s something refreshing about skipping the marble lobby scene.

Look, everyone talks about location, but this place genuinely nails it. You’re on Via Clavature, which means Piazza Maggiore is basically your front yard — I’m talking a 30-second walk to the Basilica di San Petronio and all those outdoor cafés that spill onto the square. What’s even better is that you’re close enough to duck back for a quick break between sightseeing, something you can’t do when you’re stuck out in the business district. The narrow streets around here buzz with that authentic Bologna energy, especially in the evenings when locals head out for aperitivo.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had those Piazza Maggiore views they promise — and let me tell you, watching the square come alive in the morning while you’re still in bed is pretty special. The space feels modern but not sterile, with clean lines and enough character to remind you you’re in a historic Italian city. The kitchenette setup is actually useful too, not just decorative — perfect for storing those amazing cheeses you’ll inevitably buy at the nearby markets or heating up leftover tortellini from that little place around the corner.

What Makes It Work

The staff here gets it — they’re helpful without being hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff. I mean, they steered me away from the tourist trap restaurant right on the piazza and toward this incredible osteria tucked down a side street where I had the best ragu of my life. The building itself has that solid, lived-in feel that comes from being part of the city’s fabric rather than just dropped into it. There’s reliable wifi, decent parking options nearby (though honestly, you won’t need a car here), and the kind of quiet that lets you actually sleep despite being in the center of everything.

  Fantastic apartment in the heart of Bologna
  
  A great apartment located right on the main square – the perfect base for exploring the city. It's just a short walk to many restaurants and major attractions.
  
  Check-in was smooth and easy, and communication with the owner was excellent. The apartment is very well equipped and exactly as shown in the photos.
  
  It’s within walking distance from Bologna’s main train station, and there's also a convenient connection from the airport. Very clean, with the added bonus of two bathrooms.
  
  I would love to come back and stay here again!

  A beautiful and clean apartment, but the real highlight is the location. In the evening, you can sit by the window and take in the view of Bologna’s main square, a truly magical experience.

  The location was great, right in the center of the city. The building has an amazing history! Can open the window and listen to the excellent buskers in the piazza. It has steep stairs to the first floor and lift. Well equipped and spacious. Would recommend.

  It seemed clean, but not super clean. The entry is tricky with suitcases so only accessible for young and able bodied people.
