I mean, the name literally tells you it’s ten minutes to Piazza Maggiore, but honestly, that undersells it – you’re basically nestled in Bologna’s sweet spot on Via Marconi, where you get that perfect mix of residential calm and easy access to everything that matters. The street itself has this lovely worn-in feeling, with those typical Bolognese porticoes that locals actually use (not just tourist photo ops), and there’s a little alimentari around the corner where I watched the hotel staff grab their morning coffee. That’s always a good sign, right?

The hotel itself feels like someone took a classic Italian four-star and gave it just enough modern touches without losing its soul. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no overly enthusiastic welcome ritual, just genuine helpfulness from people who clearly know the city inside out. The rooms have that satisfying weight to everything: proper curtains that actually block light, doors that close with a solid thunk, and – this matters more than you’d think – excellent soundproofing. Bologna can get surprisingly lively at night, especially during university season, but you’d hardly know it from inside. The bathrooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully Italian” – beautiful tile work, rainfall showers that actually have good pressure, and enough space to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with toiletries.

What really won me over, though, was how the staff treated the neighborhood like they were sharing their own backyard. They didn’t just point toward the duomo and call it a day – I got genuinely useful intel about which osteria fills up first on Thursday nights, where to find the best tortellini that isn’t on every food blog, and (crucially) how to navigate the morning market chaos at Mercato delle Erbe. The walking directions they give are spot-on too: that ten-minute stroll to Piazza Maggiore is actually pleasant, taking you past some gorgeous medieval architecture and through a little section where you’ll smell fresh bread from about three different bakeries. I stayed here in late spring when Bologna hits that perfect temperature sweet spot, and the evening walk back felt like the kind of thing you’d want to do even if you weren’t staying at the hotel. Sure, the Wi-Fi occasionally hiccupped (this is Italy, after all), and the elevator is charmingly vintage – meaning small and deliberate – but those feel like personality quirks rather than actual problems. For a 4-star in this location with this level of genuine local knowledge from the staff, honestly, Re Enzo delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any of the pretense you might fear.

  Много хубав апартамент, добре обзаведен, просторен, чист и уютен. Намира се на 15-20 мин от гарата и на 5 мин от центъра на Болоня. Сградата, в която се помещава, е добре подържана, районът е безопасен, шумоизолацията е перфектна. Инструкциите за настаняване бяха точни и безупречни. Домакините бяха дискретни и отзивчиви. Леглата бяха изключително удобни.

  La casa era esattamente come nelle foto, molto pulita e accogliente. Abbiamo trovato tutti i servizi compresi lavastoviglie e aspirapolvere. Anche la posizione è veramente ottima, a 5 minuti dal centro e con fermate del bus quasi davanti alla porta. Se vogliamo dare una nota negativa (che non per tutti lo è), il riscaldamento era un po' troppo alto e non era semplice capirne il funzionamento. Però esperienza più che positiva!
