I stayed there during a weekend in September and barely heard any traffic noise, even with the windows open (though the rooms are well-insulated anyway).

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve nailed the details without making a big deal about it. The rooms have this clean, modern feel – not sterile modern, but actually comfortable modern. The beds are properly firm, which seems like a small thing until you’ve spent three nights on a saggy mattress somewhere else. Check-in was smooth, and the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this little osteria about ten minutes away that I never would have found otherwise. The 9.7 rating makes sense when you experience it – everything just works the way it should, without any of those little annoyances that usually pop up. The Wi-Fi is fast, the shower has good pressure, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on the roof.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on it though – the whole FICO Eataly connection isn’t just marketing speak. You’re actually close enough to that massive food park to make it worth checking out, and honestly, having that kind of food destination nearby felt like a bonus I hadn’t expected. Plus, if you’re flying in or out of Bologna, the location makes airport transfers way less stressful than staying in the historic center where you’re dealing with restricted traffic zones and narrow streets. The neighborhood has a few decent cafés for morning coffee, and there’s parking available if you’re driving (which, let’s be real, can be a nightmare in central Bologna). It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually choose, not just a tourist holding pen. Four stars feels right – it’s not trying to be luxury, just really, really good at what it does.
