I mean, this isn’t just some cookie-cutter hotel room. It’s tucked away on Viale Angelo Masini, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to everything without being stuck in the tourist chaos around Piazza Maggiore.

The thing about this place is that it feels like staying in someone’s really well-appointed apartment rather than a hotel. The attention to detail is what gets you – I’m talking about proper Italian linens (not the scratchy stuff you usually get), a kitchen that’s actually functional if you want to grab some mortadella from the market down the street, and these gorgeous hardwood floors that creak just slightly when you walk around in the morning. The bathroom situation is particularly impressive – marble everything, and the shower pressure is actually decent, which… well, anyone who’s traveled around Italy knows that’s not always a given. There’s this subtle lavender scent throughout the place that I initially thought was cleaning products, but I think it’s just how they maintain the space.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the historic center, but here’s the thing – Via dell’Indipendenza is literally right there, so you’ve got that main artery into the city center whenever you need it. The 20 and 21 buses stop practically outside your door, though honestly, Bologna’s so walkable you probably won’t need them much. What I really appreciated was being close to the university area without the late-night noise – students tend to hang out more toward Via Zamboni and that whole scene. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with actual Bolognese families, a few solid bars where locals grab their morning coffee (there’s this tiny place called Bar Centrale about two blocks away – their cornetti are ridiculous), and you’re close enough to Giardini Margherita that you can actually go for a proper walk when you need to decompress from all the incredible food you’ll inevitably eat too much of. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no standing around a lobby, just clear instructions and everything worked exactly as promised. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not flashy, but everything just… works really well.

  The appartment was exceptionally clean, spacious and well furnished and eqipped.
  It is in a good location walking distance to the old town and university.
  It is a warm and a comfortable place to stay in winter.
  The beds were good. The watter pressure was good. There are two bathrooms which was a bonus as the four of us shared the appartment.
  It has a good view from the balcony.
  And parking in the garage was a big bomus.
  The kitchen was well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: The hot watter pressure was fluctuating, as it frequanly occurs in the appartment blocks, depending on the use of others in the building.
