MONO Apartments Aldini Overview

You know what struck me first about MONO Apartments Aldini? The building itself – it’s this beautifully restored piece tucked into the Saragozza neighborhood that feels genuinely Bolognese without trying too hard. I mean, you’re on Viale Antonio Aldini, which honestly most tourists never see, and that’s exactly why I loved it. The whole area has this lived-in quality where you’ll actually hear Italian conversations on the street instead of constant tour groups.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re smart. Really smart. Someone clearly thought about how people actually live when they designed these spaces. The kitchens aren’t just for show – you can actually cook a proper meal, which matters when you’re staying longer than a couple nights. And the whole aesthetic hits that sweet spot between modern and warm. I particularly appreciated the soundproofing (something you don’t think about until you’re trying to sleep). Even though you’re on a main street, it’s surprisingly quiet at night. The Wi-Fi actually works everywhere, the shower pressure is decent, and – this is going to sound weird – but the lighting is just right. You know how some places feel like operating rooms? Not here.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the city center, but honestly that’s perfect. Close enough that you’re not dealing with buses or taxis, far enough that you’re not drowning in crowds. There’s this fantastic little alimentari just down the street where the owner will slice your prosciutto paper-thin and recommend wines you’ve never heard of. And if you walk toward the hills – which you should, by the way – you’ll find some of those classic Bolognese porticos that lead up to San Luca. The breakfast spot around the corner does proper cappuccinos until 10:30 (not tourist coffee all day), and there’s a pharmacy, a decent restaurant, and one of those old-school Italian bars where locals actually hang out. Parking can be tricky during the day, but the staff knows the neighborhood tricks – they’ll tell you about the spots that open up after 8 PM. The whole setup just works, especially if you want to feel like you’re staying in Bologna rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of MONO Apartments Aldini

  • A great spot, highly recommended! – Ursula from Austria – 6 April 2025 (10/10)

A gorgeous apartment in a convenient location. Spacious, especially ample space for clothes, suitcases and toiletries.

There’s a bus stop right in front of the house (bus 33 which takes you to the train station and circles around the old town), and it’s a short pleasant walk to Piazza Malpighi which has plenty more bus lines.

Bakeries, ice cream shop, small supermarket are within a short walk and the old town can be easily reached on foot.

We loved staying there and can highly recommend this apartment.

What could be improved: As much as we loved the place, I think there’s room for improvement regarding the doors and locks. Both the front gate and security gate (in front of the entrance door) lock automatically when shut and can then be opened only with the key also from the inside. The windows also all have metal bars. We were always a little anxious that we might lock ourselves in our out, especially when moving between the yard/terrace and the apartment.

I think this is also not ideal in terms of an emergency (fire, medical emergency etc) if you need multiple different keys to be able to leave the apartment.

  • Very good – Panagiotis from Greece – 26 September 2024 (8/10)

Well furnished with nice desighn spacious appartment.
    Comfortable sofa and bed.
Quiet place although the central road passes a few meteres in front of the main gate.

What could be improved: To enter the appartment one needs to take three steps down.
Humidity was noticable and we used AC to keep it dry out.
Shower amenities very few for a three nights stay.

  • Visit Emilia Romagna ! – Cristina from Romania – 25 September 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is impeccable clean and very comfortable, with large bedroom and kitchen equipped with all the necessities. There is also a laundry machine for those who need one. There is enough space for the clothes ( three wardrobes ). The plus is the little garden, where you have your coffee and breakfast or the children can play. We couldn't profit of it because of the three days rain 😮, but this was our bad luck. The accomodation, even it is not in the centre, it is easy reachable, 20 minutes by feet or 10 minutes by bus. The owner very kind, answering at our questions. Besides the weather, it was a wonderful vacation ( Bologna, Ravenna, Parma – the last two are reachable by train ).

What could be improved: It is not about " what I didn't like ", but about that we preferred more supplies in the bathroom.

  • Perfect location and great staff – Edwin from United States – 14 September 2024 (10/10)

The place was very peaceful and quiet, but also within access to the center. Place is immaculate and very updated and tastefully decorated. The photos does not give the place justice- it is a LOVELY place. I love the place so much, I would consider buying it. So nice.

What could be improved: It was perfect.

  • excellent and recommended to all travelers – Jakub from Czech Republic – 7 July 2024 (10/10)

Excellent video guidance and text explenation.

What could be improved: all was good

  • Exceptional – Kelly from United Kingdom – 21 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was well stocked with kitchen equipment. The decor was fresh. Centre close by but still in a less busy area.

What could be improved: The main road you had to cross.

  • Exceptional – Joanne from United Kingdom – 19 June 2024 (10/10)

Great week in a fabulous apartment with all mod cons. Lovely little garden area for sitting out in and enjoying the sun! Very tastefully furnished and every need was thought of.

What could be improved: On a busy road so some noise from traffic but not enough to deter us from returning.

  • Our stay was amazing. – Robert from Canada – 13 June 2024 (10/10)

    The cleanliness was outstanding.
Well equipped and even some nice unexpected extras (that most properties don't supply).
Full apartment with backyard. Spacious. Lots of closet space. Large bathroom. Washing machine.
Short walk to the old town.
Bus goes almost directly to the apartment from the train station.
Seems like a nice and safe area.

What could be improved: The online checkin process is very frustrating and seems to ask more personal information that is required in comparison with other properties. Hopefully the software is secure and will not compromise my data.

  • Superb – Martina from Slovakia – 5 June 2024 (9/10)

We liked the cleanliness of the apartment, the space, equipment.

What could be improved: It was a bit cold in the apartment.

  • Superb – Ves from Bulgaria – 20 May 2024 (9/10)

Very clean apartment and great host. The beds were comfortable. The location is good and close to the center area (~15 min by walk) and even less by bike. There are nearby bus stops which makes the transportation from/to the Central Station really easy. Overall we got great value for money and we would back again in future 😊
