Look, I’ll be honest – the name “Fashion Apartment Gold” with all those capital letters had me expecting something a bit tacky, but this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away on Via San Donato in the San Donato district, which I know sounds like you’re stuck in some residential wasteland, but you’re actually only about 15 minutes from the centro storico by bus (the 14 line runs pretty regularly). The area has this authentic Bologna feel where you’ll see actual locals doing their grocery shopping instead of just tourists taking selfies.

What really sold me was walking into that apartment and seeing the jacuzzi – and I mean, it’s not some tiny hotel bathtub pretending to be a spa feature. This is a proper jacuzzi where you can actually stretch out after spending the day wandering around Piazza Maggiore or climbing the Asinelli Tower. The whole place feels more like staying at a stylish friend’s apartment than a hotel, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The décor is modern without being sterile, you know? Clean lines, good lighting, and honestly better Wi-Fi than most places I’ve stayed in Italy. The garage situation is clutch too – I mean, if you’ve ever tried to park in Bologna’s city center, you’ll understand why having a guaranteed spot is worth its weight in gold. No circling blocks for 30 minutes or dealing with ZTL restrictions.

The San Donato neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, especially in the evenings, so you’re not dealing with late-night street noise that can be an issue closer to the university area. There’s a decent supermarket about a 5-minute walk away, and honestly, the local bars and restaurants feel more authentic than the tourist traps near the Two Towers. I found this little osteria called Il Convivio just around the corner that serves incredible tortellini – the kind of place you’d never find without staying in a neighborhood like this. The apartment comes with a proper kitchen too, so you can actually cook if you pick up some ingredients at the Mercato delle Erbe (though you’ll need to take the bus for that). Check-in was smooth – they’re pretty responsive on WhatsApp, which is way better than trying to coordinate with a traditional hotel front desk. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style space and privacy with hotel-level cleanliness and service. It’s particularly great if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with someone where you actually want space to spread out.

  Nicely done apartment, a LOT of domotics, you need to read a lot of instructions for it))). Very comfortable, a gold touch is clearly present ))). The garage is a huge plus. Breakfast came in handy for us.
  
  What could be improved: I would prefer more windows, but we knew that before we came, so no problem. The apartment sleeps ideally 2, with 2 children it felt a little crowded, but for a one night stay it was totally fine.

  Very spacious apartment with own parking. It has a little patio where you can hang out, and the hot tub is a very nice feature. We even used the washer after being on the road for a days.
  We stayed for a couple of days but if you stay longer, the fully equipped kitchen is very handy.
  
  What could be improved: Location was not as good as we thought, but still walking distance to the city centre is fine.

  The Apartment is very nice and have really good Equipment. Everything you need is there and also a parking Garage. The conversation was really good and helpfull. It is a bit far to walk to the City, but the Bus Station ist only 150 Meters from the Apartment to the left and brings you in 15 Minutes directly to the City. The bed was comfortible which IS an imortant thing.Also the breakfast they leave is nice to have. If i return to bologna by car, this will definitive my Option.
