There’s a fantastic osteria literally around the corner that I stumbled into on my second night – the kind of place where the owner remembers your wine preference. The morning routine here is lovely too; you can grab proper espresso from the bar downstairs (they actually know how to pull a shot), then wander through the Quadrilatero market area picking up ingredients for later. I mean, you’re staying in a 4-star place, so you don’t need to shop for groceries, but there’s something irresistible about those aged parmigiano wheels and the way the vendors banter with regulars.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve nailed the details without being fussy about it. The rooms feel substantial – good thick walls, so you’re not hearing every footstep from the hallway, decent-sized bathrooms with rainfall showers that actually have proper water pressure. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward; the staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, so their recommendations feel genuine rather than scripted. They mentioned a late-night gelateria that stays open until midnight (rare for Bologna), and honestly, that intel alone was worth the conversation. The building itself has retained some of its original character – high ceilings, original hardwood floors in the common areas – but everything functional has been updated thoughtfully. Air conditioning that works quietly, reliable WiFi, those little touches that matter when you’re trying to actually relax. With an 8.9 rating, you’d expect it to deliver, and it does, but in this refreshingly unpretentious way that mirrors Bologna itself. It’s the kind of place where you settle in quickly and start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  L appartamento piccolo ma completamente funzionale a due passi dal centro. Accedendo da via Irnerio è possibile lasciare l auto li, abbiamo notato che è abbastanza ricca di posti auto e di notte la sosta è gratuita.

  Erstklassige Lage in der Innenstadt. Alles Wichtige haben wir fussläufig errreichen können. Restaurants und Miniläden praktisch direkt vor der Haustür. Dennoch ruhig, da das Fenster nach hinten herausgeht.
  
  What could be improved: Parkmöglichkeiten leider nur im öffentlichen Bereich. Wir haben das Parkhaus an der Piazza del VIII agosto in etwa 10 min Entfernung genutzt.

  What could be improved: The apartment was not clean, they were animal hair on the couch and found also a few on the bed cover, and the table and fridge in the kitchen were sticky.

  Die Lage ist zentral: vom Bahnhof zu Fuß in ca. 15 Minuten gut erreichbar, in der Straße viele Lokale, abends sehr belebt, aber in der Wohnung ganz ruhig. Wohnung klein und funktionell, mehr braucht man nicht. Gastgeber sehr hilfreich.
  
  What could be improved: Zugangscode und Erklärungen wären einen Tag vor Anreise sehr hilfreich gewesen, weil wir vor Ort ohne diese Hinweise alles telefonisch regeln mussten. War auch oK.
