GetTheKey Silvani Apartment Overview
You know what caught me off guard about GetTheKey Silvani Apartment? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels completely removed from Bologna’s tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, Viale Antonio Silvani isn’t exactly where you’d expect to find a solid 4-star place – it’s more of a local neighborhood with actual Bolognese families going about their daily routines. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t scream “tourist zone” the moment you step outside.
The apartment itself has this lived-in quality that I actually prefer over sterile hotel rooms. When I walked in, it felt like someone’s well-maintained home rather than a generic accommodation – you’ll notice little touches like quality kitchen equipment that actually works (honestly, try making coffee in most hotel rooms and you’ll appreciate this) and furniture that’s clearly been chosen for comfort, not just Instagram photos. The 8.8 rating makes sense once you spend a night here; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just… works. The beds are properly comfortable, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for your entire stay.
What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood itself – you’re about a 15-minute walk from the university area, which means you get that authentic Bologna vibe without dealing with the late-night student noise that can keep you up in the city center. There’s a fantastic little alimentari just down the street where the owner (I think his name’s Marco?) will slice you the best mortadella you’ve ever tasted, and honestly, having access to a proper kitchen means you can actually enjoy it instead of just grabbing another overpriced panino near the main piazzas. The tram connection is solid too – I never waited more than 10 minutes to get into the historic center, and parking wasn’t the nightmare I expected it to be in Bologna. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the Basilica di San Petronio, but that also means you’re not dealing with tour groups outside your window at 7 AM. It’s this perfect balance of being connected but not overwhelmed, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives there rather than just checking landmarks off a list.

Exceptional – Anna from Finland – 7 June 2025 (10/10)
Very nice apartment, easy to walk to the city center. Clean and spacious apartment, we really enjoyed, thank you!
Exceptional – Gary from United Kingdom – 17 April 2025 (10/10)
Spacious apartment in a great location. We were a group of 7 and the apartment was ideal for us. The city centre is a 15 min walk away and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the property.
What could be improved: It wasn’t a problem for us but the buzzer at the front door to the apartment block didn’t work.A great base for exploring Bologna and beyond. – Katherine from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)
Really good location. We could walk into the city centre in 20 minutes and there was a bus stop right outside the property with buses to the railway station every few minutes, taking about 5 minutes. There was a pretty good supermarket (Conad) about 80 metres away. Had a lovely view of St Luca basilica and the famous porticos from the apartment, which is on the 5th floor. There is a small lift – enough room for one person and four suitcases! – which was handy.
What could be improved: Could be noisy – but that's only to be expected in a busy city. May be on the route from the city centre to a hospital judging by the number of emergency vehicles.Big and comfortable apartment. – Juan from Spain – 22 August 2024 (8/10)
Within walkable distance from main sights and train station. The apartment is big and spacious. We were a group of 7 and it was perfect.
What could be improved: The furniture inside the apartment is a bit old, that's the only thing I would suggest changing in the future.Beautiful apartment, I recommend it. – Ballonga from Spain – 26 January 2024 (10/10)
It's comfortable and beautiful apartment, with cozy atmosphere. Good location, ideal for two families or a group of friends.
What could be improved: The apartment needs a new coat of paint, and repair one shutter, and other restorations.Superb – Kostas from Greece – 17 December 2023 (9/10)
Excellent location, very spacy apartment
What could be improved: The matresses at some beds where not okWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay – great walking distance into town and local restaurants. We love Bologna! – Jodie from Australia – 7 December 2023 (8/10)
Big, spacious and light. It was easy to accommodate the entire family.
What could be improved: The bathrooms /showers were small and awkward, but apart from this, the apartment was excellent!A home away from home. – Wendy from Australia – 18 October 2023 (9/10)
Very spacious. After 3 weeks in hotels it was nice to have a large living area to relax in and a kitchen instead of always eating out. Close to everything.
Excellent apartment, lovely stay in Bologna – Paula from Portugal – 7 December 2022 (10/10)
10/10, exceeded the expectations. The apartment is huge, we were 7 people, 2 families and there was enough room and privacy for everyone. Very confortable, AC in all rooms which was great since the heat and humidity in Bolonha was almost unbearable. Our host was super nice and answered immediately to all our questions. Loved Bologna and definitely recommend this apartment
What could be improved: Nothing really…A spacious, comfortable apartment, full of character in a good location with great views. – Catherine from Cyprus – 29 October 2022 (9/10)
The apartment is really spacious and full of character. The location is good, about a twenty minute walk to Piazza Maggiore and the bus to the train station stops outside the door. There is a good supermarket five minutes walk away. The choice of restaurants is limited in easy walking distance but do go to George’s bar, about three hundred meters away. Great food, a delightful, knowledgeable host and a superb selection of wines. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: Tea and coffee in the kitchen would have been good and perhaps a bottle of water.
