Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in the real Bologna, not some tourist bubble. Step outside and you’re surrounded by the kind of medieval streets and porticoes that make this city so incredible to explore on foot. The Piazza Maggiore is practically around the corner, and honestly, you can reach most of Bologna’s must-see spots without breaking a sweat. What really struck me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this place — apparently they rate the location a perfect 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed without being overly fussy about it. You can tell they’ve put real consideration into the details — good lighting where you actually need it, storage that makes sense, and a bathroom that feels spacious even when it’s not huge. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the soundproofing is solid enough that you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway. I mean, when you’re this centrally located, noise control becomes pretty crucial.

What Sets It Apart

There’s something refreshing about a place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. The staff here actually seem to know Bologna — not just the obvious tourist stuff, but where locals go for the best tortellini or which wine bars are worth your time. They’re helpful without being hovering, which is honestly a fine line that many hotels struggle with. The whole property has this intimate feel that you just can’t get at larger hotels, even really nice ones.

  The apartment is beautiful, with an elegant aesthetic. Everything is new — appliances, furniture, dishes, etc. WiFi is great and the TV has a good selection of channels, plus streaming options. The outside terrace is lovely. There is a washing machine and drying rack, so one can do laundry (which we needed to, as we were there for almost two weeks). The location is superb, right in the medieval part of town. Indeed, the building dates back to the 12th or 13th century and was refurbished about 100 years ago. Lots of food stores, cafes and great shopping! The owner, Veronica, is very helpful. Honestly, she has thought of everything in setting up this apartment (we stayed in the two-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1 half-bathroom one). Brava, Veronica!
  
  What could be improved: This is not a complaint, but something guests should be aware of. The apartment has small stair cases leading to all the rooms. Also, there is a very popular combo night club/coffee shop across from the terrace. They do turn off or lower the music promptly at 11 pm every night, but sensitive sleepers may want to bring ear plugs. We were so tired from walking all over beautiful Bologna, we fell asleep quickly. By the way, this combo night club/coffee shop has nice pastries and coffee in the morning.

  Beautiful spacious apartment. Phenomenal location near center of town one block off the Piazza Maggiore, near restaurants, and shops. Host went out of her way to be helpful.

  Couldn’t ask for a better host. Made us feel at home. She made dinner reservations two nights we were there and set up taxi ride to train station. Location was so perfect, right in the middle of city central. Stay here if you want a fantastic time in Bologna

  We loved the convenience of the large and well appointed bathroom, the decor of the entire apartment, the availability of a washing machine (which allowed us to travel with carryon luggage for a 2 week trip), and the quiet location in the historic center.
