Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Bologna apartments, and honestly? This one on Via Goito caught me off guard in the best way. You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s exactly what happened here. The building itself has this gorgeous historical character – I mean, we’re talking about Bologna’s centro storico, so you’d expect some charm – but the apartment manages to blend that old-world elegance with actual modern comfort, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think.

The location is what really sold me though. Via Goito puts you right in the thick of things without being on one of those tourist-clogged streets where you can’t sleep past 7 AM. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore (I timed it because I’m weird like that), but somehow tucked away enough that you feel like you’ve discovered something special. There’s this little osteria around the corner that serves the most incredible tortellini in brodo – the kind of place where locals actually eat, not just tourists following their guidebooks. And honestly, being able to stumble back to your apartment after a proper Bolognese dinner is pretty much priceless.

What I really appreciated was how thoughtfully everything was set up. The apartment feels genuinely luxurious – not in that sterile, hotel-chain way, but more like staying in a really well-appointed friend’s place. The kitchen actually has decent equipment (you can make real coffee, thank god), and there’s enough space to spread out, which is something you don’t always get in historic city centers. The Wi-Fi was solid, which matters when you’re trying to figure out train schedules or restaurant reservations. I will say the building’s entrance can be a bit tricky to find on your first night – it’s one of those unmarked doors that’s very Italian – but once you get oriented, it adds to the whole authentic experience. The host was incredibly responsive too, which made check-in smooth even though I arrived later than planned. You know what really impressed me? The attention to little details like having actual hangers in the closet and decent lighting for reading. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places miss these things. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels both special and practical in Bologna, this is definitely worth considering.

• Very central location and clean place, but loud and dark – Orsolya from Hungary – 18 May 2025 (8/10)

  The appartment located very central, 15mins walk from train station and other sites. The flat was extremely clean and checkin process very smooth.
  Style is modern and bed is very comfortable with great hotel like bed sheets.
  Also communication throughout our stay was very good with the company who is taking care of the place. They gave very good suggestions and advised during our stay. Their reaponses was also very quick.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately there is a Mexican bar next door that was very loud until 2-3am in the morning Friday and Saturday also Tuesday. So we only had 2 quiet nights unfortunately. Im not sure how even law allows this in a neighborhood where peiple living and wanna sleep at night. You only can sleep using earplug and cant let window open. But when you close its very warm.
  Also there is a garage just below the flat and its making loud creaking noise as it opens and closes.

  Appartamento spazioso, e posizione fantastica. C’è un supermercato a 30 metri e tanti bar vicini, oltre a piazza maggiore a due passi. Molto silenzioso. Tutto perfetto. Veniamo spesso a Bologna e Torneremo qui senza dubbio.

  What could be improved: Keuken was wat mager geoutilleerd. Vooral glaswerk (geen enkel longdrink of bierglas)en bestek (we misten een broodmes) en er waren precies 4 messen en 3 lepeltjes. Ook schalen aan de magere kant (geen ovenschaal).
  Als je voor 2 weken huurt, verwacht ik iets meer handdoeken en theedoeken.

  What could be improved: There were bars nearby meaning that it was very noisy until 3 in the morning. Poor facilities in the apartment given the price. Nothing to wash-up with, no microwave, no dishwasher, poor hairdryer.
