Leo e Patty Appartamento A Bologna09 Overview

You know what hit me first when I walked into Leo e Patty’s place? The apartment actually feels like someone’s home – not in that fake “home away from home” way hotels always claim, but genuinely lived-in and comfortable. It’s tucked away on Via Ferruccio Parri, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (interno 5, second floor), but that’s part of what makes it feel like a real Bologna experience rather than tourist central.

The location is pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. I mean, you’re far enough from the chaos around Piazza Maggiore to actually sleep at night, but close enough that you can walk to the centro storico without breaking a sweat. There’s this little alimentari just around the corner where the owner – this older guy who speaks about three words of English – somehow always knew exactly what I needed. The morning sounds are perfect too: church bells mixing with the click of heels on cobblestones and the distant hum of the market setting up. No honking cars at 6 AM like you’d get closer to the train station.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a rental apartment. The kitchen is actually equipped for cooking – I’m talking proper knives, decent pans, not the usual mismatched junk. The shower has proper water pressure (honestly, this matters more than you think in Italian apartments), and there’s this little balcony area where you can have your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. Leo was incredibly responsive when I had questions about the heating – replied within minutes even though it was a Sunday. The WiFi is solid too, which saved me when I needed to work a few mornings.

The building itself has that worn-in elegance that Bologna does so well. Stone steps that thousands of feet have polished smooth, thick walls that keep things cool in summer and cozy in winter. You’ll hear your neighbors occasionally, but it’s the good kind of noise – conversations over dinner, not parties till 3 AM. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which was perfect for me but might feel too sleepy if you’re looking for nightlife right outside your door.

One thing I really appreciated – the apartment is on the second floor, so you get good light without feeling like you’re living in a fishbowl. The windows face east, which means lovely morning sun but you’re not baking in the afternoon heat. Parking can be tricky around here (it’s Bologna, after all), but there’s a decent public lot about five minutes away, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anyway. The bus connections are solid, and everything worth seeing is walkable.

This place has earned its 9.3 rating the hard way – through dozens of small things done right rather than flashy amenities. It’s where you’d want to stay if you actually lived in Bologna and had friends visiting. The kind of place where you find yourself lingering over breakfast because it just feels right.

Reviews of Leo e Patty Appartamento A Bologna09

  • Good – Antonia from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (7/10)

Comfortable apartment, very close to big supermarket. We had a cot for our daughter which was great. 20 minutes walk from central station where there is transport for airport. The flat has a lift, too.

What could be improved: We felt that it wasn't clean enough. The toilet hadn't been cleaned properly and the floor wasn't mopped; our socks got black within a few minutes walking on it. I thought it's not good value for money but I understand prices in Bologna are super high anyways.

  • Superb – Alessandro from Italy – 19 April 2025 (9/10)

L'appartamento dispone di tutti i comfort necessari. La gentilezza e la cortesia della Sig.ra Patrizia, titolare dell'appartamento, sono ineccepibili.
    L'a posizione dell'appartamento vicina a tutti i servizi.

What could be improved: Nella zona non c'è disponibilità di parcheggio auto che non sia a pagamento.

  • Tranquillo e proficuo – Cappelletti from Italy – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

È in un contesto abbastanza tranquillo e vicino al centro fieristico.

What could be improved: Sicuramente non avere un parcheggio privato è un punto a sfavore.

  • Convenient to centre, easy to get into the town – Caroline from United Kingdom – 30 October 2024 (10/10)

We were staying there for an exhibition and the flat is at the end of the road, so 2 minutes walk to the halls. There are a few eateries in the area so you don't have to go into town but it's an easy bus ride to go in and talks about 10 minutes, or it's an easy walk which takes about 20 minutes.

What could be improved: All was good, for us no bad points.

  • Clean, everything to hand in flat, cab walk into town in 15 minutes. – Caroline from United Kingdom – 30 October 2023 (10/10)

Excellent location for where we were going. Good local bus routes, but very easy to walk to from railway station – we didn't have a lot of luggage. Two restaurants that were 2 minutes walk if we didn't want to self cater.

What could be improved: To be honest everything was great, there was nothing we didn't like.

  • Exceptional – Ticiane from Brazil – 15 July 2023 (10/10)

I went to Bologna for a few days for my friend's wedding. and the afintrioes were incredible. and very pleasant. very good and quiet place to rest. supermarket nearby. restaurant, and the apartment had everything I needed. I was really happy with my stay.

  • Exceptional – Patrick from United Kingdom – 9 June 2023 (10/10)

Proximity to Bologna Fiere convention center was absolutely perfect. Excellent supermarket 5 minutes walk from apartment. Some really nice bars/eateries in the area also (10 to 20 mins walk). Aircon worked well. Added bonus of washing machine and drying rack on veranda. Coffee pods provided were most welcome and made excellent coffee, once I'd figured out the machine. Great welcome from Patrizia.

What could be improved: Doors to shower cubicle were a little flimsy – I was worried I might damage them as I slid them closed – but this is me being really picky.

  • only 15 mins walk to old town with garage parking – Gary from Australia – 22 May 2023 (8/10)

    private garage car parking
hosts met us and explained all facilities
extra goodies eg Salt pepper oil

  • Cleanliness was an issue – Christian from Malta – 19 April 2023 (5/10)

Supermarket was near. Had a washing machine. Bus stop was near. Ideal if you want to attend the bologna trade fair but not ideal as a holiday glat

What could be improved: There was webs in all rooms and dust all over the bed head boards. Clear signs that it not cleaned thoroughly. We also found glasses with lipstick on which made us all wash what we used.

  • Exceptional – Joanna from Poland – 18 September 2022 (10/10)

Locatiom, terrace, cleanliness, Patty behaviour and courtessy
