Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Bologna over the years, and In Fiera 14 Apartment is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. It’s tucked away on Via Ermete Zacconi in San Donato – which, okay, sounds super fancy but it’s actually this quietly residential area that most tourists never see. You know what I mean? The kind of neighborhood where you hear kids playing in courtyards and smell actual Italian cooking drifting from windows, not just tourist trap carbonara.

The apartment itself is… well, it’s pretty much what you’d hope a 4-star place in Bologna would be. Clean lines, that modern-but-not-sterile vibe, and honestly the best shower pressure I’ve had in Italy (which is saying something). The hosts clearly get that travelers need real functionality – there’s proper counter space in the kitchen, outlets where you actually need them, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously die every time someone in the building makes coffee. I mean, the little things matter when you’re trying to actually live somewhere for a few days, not just crash between museum visits. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in the city, but everything just… works.

What really got me though was the location. San Donato puts you close enough to hop on the bus and be in Piazza Maggiore in like 15 minutes, but far enough out that you can actually park (seriously, try finding parking near the centro storico – it’s a nightmare). There’s this little market on Saturday mornings just a few blocks away where locals do their shopping, and I stumbled onto the best focaccia I had during my entire stay. The area gets properly quiet at night too, which is gold if you’re a light sleeper like me. During the day you’ve got this gentle hum of real neighborhood life, but come 10 PM it’s peaceful enough that you can sleep with the windows open. Plus – and this is key if you’re planning to explore beyond Bologna – you’re actually well-positioned for day trips since you’re not fighting your way through the historic center traffic every time you want to head toward Modena or Ravenna.

  Ottima posizione per raggiungere la fiera e diversi ristoranti/supermercati nella zona: parcheggio sottostante a pagamento, ma molto comodo per la vicinanza con la struttura.
  Il centro dista solo circa 25 minuti a piedi. Padrone di casa gentilissimo e super disponibile.
