They’ll sit you down with a proper espresso and walk you through neighborhood gems that you’d never find in a guidebook. The rooms themselves have this perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort – think original hardwood floors and period details, but with excellent Wi-Fi and bathrooms that actually work (you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given in historic Italian properties). I stayed in the room facing the garden, and mornings there were honestly magical – birds chirping, that soft light filtering through the trees, the occasional church bell from San Petronio drifting over.

What really sets this place apart is its location in Saragozza – it’s where actual Bolognesi live, not just tourists. You’ll find yourself shopping for groceries at the local market on Via Saragozza, grabbing aperitivo at bars where you’re the only non-Italian, and discovering that the best mortadella in the city (fight me on this) comes from the little salumeria just two blocks down. The area gets properly quiet at night, which was a blessing after days of navigating Bologna’s lively student crowds. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – like most of Bologna’s residential areas, it’s ZTL restricted during certain hours, but the hosts will sort you out with exactly where to go and when. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place where small touches matter, where breakfast feels like a conversation rather than a transaction, and where you’ll genuinely miss the morning routine when you leave.   The property was pristine, had a lot of amenities that were being refilled every day. It is walking distance from the city centre with a lot of options for food around. The host Silvia was absolutely incredible, helped us so much in how to traverse the city and points of interest, she also helped us sorting out taxis to the airport when we were leaving. I would 100% recommend staying in here!

  We had a lovely stay in Bologna in this apartment. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and close to the town centre via the 14 or 21 bus, or about 15 minutes to walk. We especially enjoyed eating out in the local restaurants very nearby, where local people eat. Silvia was a great hostess, and helped with a lot of information. It was really convenient to be able to leave our bags on the last day as we had a late flight, and Silvia even organised a taxi for us. A tip to a first visitor to Bologna – if there is more than one of you travelling, it is cheaper and very much more comfortable to get a taxi from the airport than to use the Marconi Express to the central station.

  We had a wonderful stay in Bologna near Giardino Vittorio Melloni. The location was perfect—quiet and close to the park, yet just a short walk from the city center. The apartment was clean and cozy, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was fantastic, very welcoming, and always available for any questions or recommendations. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Bologna!

  Felt like a home from home. Cool in the hot weather and I’m sure it would be cosy when it’s colder – lovely decor and really comfy beds. This stop was part of a road trip from Scotland and we couldn’t have been more glad of having a calming space of our own to stay in
  Beautiful garden which our dog loved, nearby a nice park in a quiet and traditional neighbourhood and within walking distance to the town centre past lots of interesting shops, bars, restaurants and green spaces.
  Silvia the owner is a true gem, lovely person and so helpful and accommodating.
  Our dog was made so welcome, which is always a real bonus for us.
  We will definitely be back, on our next visit to Bologna, which is such a beautiful city.
