You know what struck me first about this place? The name is honestly perfect – Bologna centrale is literally two steps from the city center, and I mean that almost literally. Walking out onto Viale Pietro Pietramellara, you’re maybe a five-minute stroll from Piazza Maggiore, which is pretty fantastic when you’re dragging luggage or just want to pop back to your room between exploring sessions.

The hotel itself has this comfortable, lived-in feel that I really appreciated. It’s a solid 4-star property with an 8.3 rating, and honestly, that rating feels about right – not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the fundamentals really well. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully laid out, with that European efficiency where everything has its place. I actually loved how quiet it was at night, which surprised me given how central the location is. The windows must be decent quality because even though you’re right in the thick of things, you’re not hearing every Vespa that goes by at 2 AM.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Bologna. When I asked about where to grab the best tortellini (because, come on, it’s Bologna), the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure – he started sketching out a little map to this osteria his nonna used to take him to. That kind of local knowledge is gold when you’re trying to eat like a human being instead of falling into every tourist trap around Piazza del Nettuno. The breakfast setup was solid too, nothing fancy but they had proper Italian coffee and some local pastries that actually tasted like they came from a real bakery down the street, not from some industrial kitchen. I mean, the location alone makes this place worth considering – you can walk to the university district, duck into those amazing covered markets, or catch a train to Florence without dealing with taxis or figuring out bus routes. Plus, if you’re the type who likes to wander around at night, you’re right in the heart of where locals actually hang out, not stuck in some business district that dies after 6 PM.

  It is specious, clean, with air conditioning and huge balcony! Very convenient to eat and walk around.

  Position was excellent straight across the road from the train station easy walk to main attractions and restaurants,flat is clean with everything you need.

  The place has alot of space and the beds are confortable . Also it is located very good in the city and near the central station . Overall it was a good stay . The host was very nice .

  Very cozy apartment near station Bologna Centrale. Lots of cafe are placed near to apartment. In 5-7 minutes there is gracery. Not far from center of the city. Inside the aparment is very comfortable, everything you may need for accommodation. 2 bedrooms with king size bed, 1 bathroom and 1 toilet, kitchen with all dishes (except glasses for wine). It was easy to communicate with the owner. Everything was perfect. We will come back again for sure!
