Look, I’ll be honest – when I first turned down Vicolo Posterla looking for this place, I thought I’d gotten lost. It’s this narrow little side street that you’d walk right past if you weren’t paying attention, tucked away in Bologna’s centro storico. But that’s actually part of what makes Posterla Apartment so great. You’re literally in the heart of the old city, maybe a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but it feels like you’ve discovered some secret local hideaway.

The building itself has that weathered Bologna charm – you know, the kind of place where the stones have stories and the entrance feels like stepping into someone’s elegant home rather than a hotel. What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re surrounded by all the action. I mean, Bologna’s historic center can get pretty lively (especially during university term when the students are out), but this little vicolo seems to buffer most of the noise. The apartment setup is perfect if you actually want to live like a local for a few days rather than just pass through. There’s proper space to spread out, and honestly, after weeks of cramped hotel rooms, having a real living area felt like luxury.

The staff clearly knows their stuff about the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible tortellini place on Via del Pratello that I never would’ve found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on market timing at Mercato delle Erbe. You know what I appreciated most though? They didn’t oversell anything. Just straightforward advice from people who actually live here. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be some flashy five-star palace, but everything works exactly as it should. The location alone is worth it if you want to explore Bologna properly on foot, but having a comfortable base that feels authentically Bolognese rather than generically Italian… well, that’s harder to find than you’d think. Fair warning though – parking in this area is basically impossible, so if you’re driving, ask them about options beforehand. But if you’re planning to wander the porticoes and hunt down the city’s legendary food scene, you really couldn’t ask for a better starting point.

  Bologna je nádherné město, apartmán je v klidné boční ulici přímo v centru. Velice prostorný a situovaný jako byt. Kuchyň krásná velká, plně zařízená – nic nechybělo. Koupelna menší ale velice čistá takže opravdu spokojenost. Hlavní pokoj velice velký, postel obří, příjemná, jen moc měkké polštáře – asi věc zvyku. Hostitelka velice nápomocná – rozbilo se nám auto a snažila se nám pomoci. Parkování celkem daleko – 1,4km za 18e na den

  Good central location into a small street, ground floor, safe place.
  Pillows are a bit small and so soft, just one is additional.

  What could be improved: Not clean, worst pillows ever, cold apartment when we asked about heating we didnt received any option so it was freezing. After we made and paid for our rezervation we were charged aditional 56 euros cleaning fee witch was never mentioned before. So is a robbery in a cultural way.

  Comfortable, cozy and fashionable apartments. Comfortable bed, good dishes, capsule coffee maker. Nearby bus stop, 5 minutes from the center. Supermarkets are a five-minute walk away. Everything was fine
