You know what struck me first about Casa Mia? It’s tucked away on Via del Milliario in this perfectly residential Bologna neighborhood where you actually hear Italian families going about their daily lives instead of tourist chatter. The apartment sits on the primo piano (first floor for us Americans), and honestly, climbing those Italian marble steps felt like I was visiting someone’s actual home rather than checking into another sterile hotel room. The street itself is one of those narrow Bologna lanes where the buildings lean in toward each other, creating this cozy tunnel effect that keeps things surprisingly quiet despite being so close to the city center.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything was set up – I mean, someone clearly lives and breathes this city because there were local touches everywhere that you just don’t find in chain hotels. The kitchen had proper Italian coffee (not that instant stuff), and there was this little handwritten note about the best pasticceria around the corner on Via San Vitale. The space itself feels genuinely lived-in but polished, if that makes sense. High ceilings with those classic Bologna exposed beams, and the windows look out onto one of those internal courtyards where you can hear neighbors chatting and see laundry fluttering between buildings. It’s the kind of place where you wake up and actually feel like you’re in Italy, not just some international hotel bubble. The bathroom was modern without being cold, and – this matters more than you’d think – the shower had amazing water pressure, which isn’t always a given in these older Italian buildings.

What sealed it for me was the location, though not in that generic “convenient location” way everyone talks about. You’re literally a 10-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but you’re also in this authentic residential pocket where there’s a fantastic little market on Via Petroni and you can grab morning cornetti from places that have been family-run for decades. The neighborhood comes alive around aperitivo time, and you can actually walk to those hidden osterie that locals frequent without dealing with the tourist crowds around the main squares. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – there’s a garage about two blocks away, and the host actually gave me specific tips about street parking that worked perfectly. I honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Bologna now. It’s got that rare combination of feeling special and authentic while still being comfortable and well-maintained. The kind of place where you’re already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  Appartamento con tutto l’occorrente ben segnalato, pulizia impeccabile e tanta tanta disponibilità (grazie!!) Segnalo solo, forse mi era sfuggito ma per noi è andata comunque bene così, che la camera non è separata ma è un locale unico. Ingresso automatizzato molto comodo.

  L'appartamento è dotato di tutti i comfort, cucina con stoviglie e bollitore, bagno con doccia, asciugacapelli, prodotti da bagno (minimi ma comunque presenti), lavatrice.
  Il letto e i cuscini sono molto comodi, ci hanno permesso di dormire tranquillamente.
  Nell'appartamento è presente anche una smart tv e collegamento ad internet veloce!
  L'intero appartamento è ben curato e soprattutto pulito e profumato!
  
  La proprietaria, Michela, è stata super gentile e disponibile, soprattutto nella fase di check in.
  
  Nei pressi dell'appartamento ci sono molti servizi utili tipo bar, pizzeria, supermercato ecc.. è possibile anche fare delle passeggiate lungo fiume e nei vari spazi verdi tutto raggiungibile a piedi.
  Il quartiere è molto tranquillo anche nelle ore serali/notturne.
  
  A pochi passi dall'appartamento c'è la fermata dell'autobus con cui in 20 minuti circa si raggiunge tranquillamente il centro di Bologna.
  
  I parcheggi sono tutti gratuiti, si trova facilmente nelle ore diurne un pò meno nelle ore serali, ma comunque nelle traverse limitrofe all'appartamento si trova sempre qualcosa!
  
  Nel complesso è stato un soggiorno piacevole, sicuramente se dovessimo tornare in zona ripasseremo da CASA MIA APARTMENT.

  The apartment is beautiful and was very clean.It is very well equipped and everything worked very well. Towels and bed linen were of good quality, as well as kitchen aids.
  Michela was really easy to contact, helped willingly with all our needs and was in fact very nice, helpful and caring 🙂
  
  We booked for a rather long time, me my husband and our 3 year old son. We knew it would probably be small for us, but thought it would be ok. It was a great surprise to realise how well equipped and well thought the apartment is: it was actually very comfortable!
  
  I really recommend Michela's place. It was great to arrive at Bologna and be hosted in such a nice place.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing not so good were the construction sites all around the city of Bologna – definitely not the host to blame. However it made it more difficult to move by bus around the city, specially with a 3 year old.

  Appartement avec tout ce qu’il me fallait (grand lit, internet rapide, grande salle de bain avec lave linge et coin cuisine). Quartier populaire avec glaciers, bars, supermarchés et restaurants disponibles à pied sans oublier le bus qui était à deux minutes pour aller au centre. Disponibilité et gentillesse de l’hôte. 8 semaines superbes.
