Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Bologna over the years, and this spot on Strada Maggiore really gets it right. The name “Heart of Bologna: City Center Living” sounds a bit cheesy, sure, but it’s actually pretty accurate – you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters. I mean, Piazza Maggiore is maybe a seven-minute stroll, and you can practically smell the tortellini from Osteria del Sole if the wind’s right.

The building itself has that classic Bologna feel – you know, those warm terracotta colors that make the whole city look like it’s permanently bathed in golden hour light. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being right in the thick of things. Strada Maggiore can get busy during the day (lots of students heading to the university area), but honestly, the rooms are well-insulated and things calm down nicely in the evenings. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s got all the modern stuff you need without trying to be overly fancy about it. Check-in was smooth, though if you’re driving, well… good luck with that. Bologna’s historic center isn’t exactly car-friendly, but there’s a parking garage about two blocks away that won’t completely drain your wallet.

Here’s what I loved most: the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about where to grab a proper aperitivo, they didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure – they sent me to this little place around the corner where locals actually hang out. And the breakfast? Look, it’s not going to change your life, but they do proper espresso and decent cornetti, plus they had some local jams that were honestly better than what you’d find at most hotels twice the price. The rooms themselves are comfortable enough – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are solid and the bathrooms are updated without losing that Italian charm. You’ll hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but that’s just Bologna being Bologna. The 7.8 rating seems fair – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. If you want to actually experience the city instead of just staying in some generic hotel bubble, this place puts you right where you need to be.

  Posizione centralissima, tutto raggiungibile a piedi con brevi passeggiata. Casa pulita, luminosa, calda e accogliente con una bellissima vista dal soggiorno. Per due persone spazi molto ampi. Cucina non utilizzata ma dotata di tutto il necessario. Check in semplice e veloce.
  
  What could be improved: Effettivamente come segnalato in altre recensioni il piatto doccia si riempiva velocemente e si rischiava di allagare tutto, ma è l’unica nota negativa….quindi ci può stare.

  – The location is really good, with many shops/ bars/ restaurants nearby.
  – Both the bed and the couch are very comfortable, with plenty of place to store your clothing.
  – The kitchen/living room area is very nice.
  – Great full-length mirror in the bedroom.
  
  What could be improved: – While the check-in/check-out process was ok, the fact that the host tried to earn some extra money by asking us to pay for the late check-in (after 9:30 PM), even though we arrived before that time, completely ruined the experience.
  – To enter the apartment, you must go through 4 different doors with different keys, and even the elevator only works with the key.
  – In the kitchen, the water in the sink did not drain.
  – We were promised an iron in the apartment (I've asked about it multiple times), but it wasn't there.
  – The bathroom needs renovation, especially the shower…
  – This is probably only important for the girls – but the lightning is not good there if you need to do your makeup

  The apartment was walking distance to the center, right next to a supermarket and with lots of places to eat near by. It was clean and big enough for a family of 4.
  
  What could be improved: There was an extra stair to the apartment after the elevator – which we knew about but it was a bit narrow for the strollers. There wasn't enough equipment in the kitchen – for example no cerial bowls and no place to leave the dishes to dry. No towels for the kitchen and when we asked for one they told us that we should buy. We got the same answer when we asked for extra toilet paper – they left us two rolls for 4 days for 4 people. They also left us 2 20ml bottles of shower gel for our stay which was apparently not enough. We were told not to touch extra supplies as we would be charged 10€ – there was a note in the apartment. The biggest problem though was that from the say that we checked in until we left the bedroom was without electricity. When we texted our contact person it felt like he was trying to buy himself time until we checked out. We would text in the morning and he answered in the evening trying to tell to check something out each time and not sending someone to fix the problem . And so on the time went by until we checked out.

  What could be improved: Place entering area is disturbing. You leave 4 door till reach the main door. It didn't felt safety. Also the automatic climate wasn't good. At the mornings we were cold. Outside street full of homeless. It doesn't good feeling.
