The entrance is sort of understated – which actually turned out to be part of its charm. Once you’re inside though, wow. The space feels way more spacious and polished than you’d expect from the street view, and I mean that in the best way possible. The 4-star rating isn’t just for show here; they’ve really thought through the details. The flooring has this warm, almost honey-colored wood that creaks just slightly when you walk – not annoyingly, but in that way that makes a place feel lived-in and authentic.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the heart of Bologna. The building itself seems to buffer a lot of the street noise, and the windows are actually decent quality (I’m always testing this because I’m a light sleeper). The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble. There’s this little alimentari about two blocks down where locals grab their morning coffee – stronger than anything you’ll find near the main piazzas, and half the price. The apartment setup means you’ve got proper space to spread out, which is huge if you’re staying more than just a night or two. I loved having an actual kitchen area where I could store some of those incredible mortadella and parmigiano purchases from Mercato di Mezzo without cramming everything into a mini fridge.

The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a hotel – and with a 9 rating, clearly other people are picking up on that same vibe. Check-in was smooth, no weird key pickup locations or confusing instructions that sometimes come with these residential-style places. The host actually knows the neighborhood well and gave me specific recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. Walking to the university area takes maybe 10 minutes, and you can easily reach the historic center on foot without feeling like you need to plan your whole day around getting back. Honestly, the value here is pretty exceptional for what you’re getting – that perfect sweet spot between authentic local experience and having all the comfort details sorted out properly.
