You know how most airport spots feel like glorified waiting rooms? This one doesn’t. When I first walked into the lobby, there was this warm, almost residential feeling that made me forget I was basically sleeping next to a runway.

The location on Via Lepido is pretty smart, actually. You’re about ten minutes from the airport (and they run a shuttle, thank god), but here’s the thing – you’re also right on the edge of Borgo Panigale, which means you can actually walk to some decent local spots if you’ve got time to kill. There’s this little trattoria about three blocks down that most travelers never find, and honestly, the coffee there beats anything you’ll get at the airport by miles. The rooms themselves are solid – I mean, they’re not going to win any design awards, but the beds are genuinely comfortable and the soundproofing is way better than I expected. I was worried about plane noise, but you really only notice it if you’re actively listening for it.

What really won me over was the staff’s approach to the whole “transit hotel” thing. They get that people are either stressed about catching flights or dead tired from long journeys, so check-in is refreshingly quick and they’re actually helpful with logistics – like, they’ll tell you exactly when to leave for your departure terminal, not just hand you a generic shuttle schedule. The breakfast runs until 10:30 (unusual for airport hotels), and while it’s not exactly artisanal, there’s proper espresso and decent pastries alongside the usual continental spread. I’ve stayed here three times now during connections, and there’s something reassuring about a place that consistently delivers without trying to be fancy about it. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it does exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the marble lobbies in the world.

  What could be improved: I booked this hotel as the shuttle service was advertised as starting at 4am and bookable on arrival. On arrival we were told that it was full and that we would have to book a taxi in the morning, which was disappointing. Later, we checked if we could book the taxi in advance and a very helpful different staff member volunteered that we could go on the 3.40am shuttle instead! If we hadn’t asked again, we would have been unaware of the earlier shuttle. Apart from this confusion, the hotel was ideal for the airport.

  If you have a very early flight, or arrive very late, the location of the hotel is super.Also.just 10min.walk to the COOP/Cosco Grocery store.
