The staff mentioned that a lot of business travelers choose this place specifically because it’s close enough to the city center but far enough out that you can actually park without losing your mind – and honestly, anyone who’s driven in Bologna knows that’s worth its weight in gold.

What struck me most was how the place manages to feel both polished and lived-in at the same time. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe but with touches that feel thoughtful rather than corporate. You know what I appreciated? The windows actually open properly, and there’s decent soundproofing – something you don’t always get even in pricier places around here. The beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have that satisfying weight to the fixtures that suggests quality without being flashy about it. During my stay in late spring, the whole building stayed cool naturally, which was a relief since Bologna can get surprisingly muggy.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – they do this spread that includes local stuff alongside the usual hotel fare, and the coffee is actually good, not that bitter hotel coffee that makes you hunt for the nearest bar. I ended up chatting with other guests most mornings, which doesn’t always happen in hotels, but there’s something about the setup that encourages it. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which you can tell makes a difference in how smoothly everything runs. Check-in was painless, they knew the neighborhood well enough to give solid restaurant recommendations (not just the touristy spots), and when I needed to extend my stay by a day, they made it happen without drama.

Here’s the thing – HomeSerra 2 isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in Bologna, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s the kind of hotel that business travelers book repeatedly and couples choose when they want comfort without pretension. That 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience it; everything just works the way it should, from the reliable wifi to the housekeeping that doesn’t disrupt your morning routine.   Excellent location a few minutes walk from the station, good selection of restaurants and bars nearby. Property was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was also very secure.

  Location was excellent! Very near Bologna Centrale station. Simona was very kind and easy to communicate with and made the stay very seamless for us. The place has all the amenities you would need.
  
  What could be improved: Only a couple of things that could have been better. The WiFi could have been more stable. It worked, but the signal would drop off from time to time before coming back. The heaters could also have been a bit stronger as it was a bit cold, but we come from a very hot country so it's a personal preference.

  Very comfortable apartment in a nice zone. Everything is near. 5 min walk from train station where you can take a Marconi express to airport.

  The apartment was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed. It was situated in a very convenient location which took only a few minutes going to the train station and city center.

  The property was clean and close to the train station. There was a pastry shop across the street and the neighborhood was quiet. the hostess was very friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Be aware there there is no dishwasher or microwave. On one of the twin beds there were no sheets.
