Gregorini Bingham Art Luxury Suites Overview

You know what struck me first about the Gregorini Bingham? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet cobblestone street in Saragozza – Via Barberia – which honestly feels like you’ve stumbled into some secret corner of Bologna that the tourist crowds haven’t discovered yet. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the historic center (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t get distracted by all the little shops), but there’s something refreshingly residential about the whole area.

The building itself is one of those converted historic places that somehow manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time. When I walked into my suite, the first thing I noticed was how they’ve actually integrated contemporary art throughout – not just random paintings slapped on walls, but pieces that seem to belong there, you know? The rooms are spacious in that European way where you’re not bumping into furniture every time you turn around, and the bathrooms… well, let’s just say they clearly understand that a good shower can make or break a stay. The beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered – none of that rock-hard mattress situation you sometimes get in boutique places trying too hard to be minimalist.

What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail that you don’t always expect from a 4-star property. The staff actually remembers your name (and your coffee preference), and they seem genuinely excited to share recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this incredible little osteria about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast spread is thoughtfully curated – fresh pastries from a local bakery, properly aged cheeses, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around for hours. Plus, the whole area around Via Barberia comes alive in the evenings with locals heading to aperitivo, so you get this authentic neighborhood vibe that’s hard to find when you’re staying right in the centro storico. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some corners of the suites, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re trying to disconnect and soak in Bologna’s incredible food scene and laid-back atmosphere.

A great stay to explore Bologna for a couple of days. Highly recommended!

  • A characterful oasis in the heart of old Bologna. – Timothy from United Kingdom – 4 July 2025 (9/10)

Great situation in the centre of the city but removed just far enough from the epicentre to be blissfully quiet at night and far removed from traffic either human or vehicular. Lovely, airy rooms with very high ceilings and very comfortable beds.

What could be improved: The only reason for not awarding a straight 10/10 is the absence of free mineral water bottles in the room. Charging for such a basic necessity is the only blemish on otherwise perfect accommodation.

  • Perfect place to stay to explore Bologna. – Mark from Australia – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

This is a great place. Old world charm, large rooms with high ceilings and in a great location. We arrived early and were able to drop our cases. The place is old but the room was modern. Kettle and coffee machine. Nice and comfortable. The location is great just a short walk to the Main Street and sites. Staff were great. Would certainly recommend.

What could be improved: There are a lot of stairs and no lift. For me it wasn’t an issue but might be for some people.

  • Beautiful, spacious, and stylish accommodation. – Petunijac from Czech Republic – 7 June 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely beautiful design accommodation in a stunning historic building. It was truly an experience. The room was incredibly spacious, with everything I needed. I stayed only one night, but I would have loved to stay longer. The location is also fantastic – just a few steps from the lovely café Lampadina. I can only recommend it!
