The apartment itself has that perfect balance of feeling like a real Italian home without the quirks that make you miss your own bed. I mean, it’s got character – the kind of place where you’ll actually want to make coffee in the morning and sit by the windows watching the neighborhood wake up. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not trying to be some luxury hotel, but everything works the way it should, and the details show someone actually cares about the guest experience. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re in the city – the Saragozza area has this residential calm that’s hard to find in Bologna’s center. During the day, there’s this gentle hum of local life (people heading to the market, kids walking to school), but come evening, it settles into the kind of peaceful that actually lets you sleep.

Here’s what you need to know about staying here – parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, like most of Bologna, but the trade-off is being in a neighborhood where you can walk to proper local spots. There’s this little alimentari around the corner where the owner will slice your prosciutto just right, and you’re close enough to Porta Saragozza that you can start the San Luca climb if you’re feeling ambitious (though honestly, most people just admire the portico from below). The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that doesn’t wow you with flashy amenities, but gets all the fundamentals right in a way that makes you feel like you’re experiencing Bologna as it actually is, not some tourist-friendly version of it. • Dunkle Unterkunft im Innenhof – Natalia from Germany – 15 May 2025 (6/10)

  Die schöne Lage im südlichen Teil der Stadt. Die Wohnung ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Streaming-Anbieter (Netflix & Co.) kostenlos.
  
  What could be improved: Die Wohnung befindet sich im engen Innenhof eines Altbaus, in einem zweckmäßig umgebauten ehemaligen Annexgebäude (Waschküche?). Dieses verfügt nur über Türen (Eingang oder große Schiebetür zum Hof) und hat keine Fenster, die zum Lüften genutzt werden können. Entsprechend feucht und dunkel ist die Wohnung. „Licht“ gibt es allerdings den ganzen Tag über (8-24 Uhr) "dank" die Neonbeleuchtung in der Küche des Restaurants im Vorderhaus, das ebenfalls zum Hof ausgerichtet ist… Keine abdunkelnden Gardinen vorhanden.
  Die Beleuchtung in der Wohnung selbst erfolgt nur über Strahler in der Decke, die nicht verstellbar sind. Auch die Heizung/Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht regulieren. Bei Kälte helfen nur zusätzliche Decken.
  
  Der Innenhof ist als Aufenthaltsort kaum zu empfehlen, nicht nur, weil er dunkel ist, sondern auch wegen der offenen Kanalisation des Gebäudes und der vielen rauschenden Klimageräte des Restaurants, die geschickt mit den Kübelpflanzen cachiert sind.
  
  Die Bettwäsche besteht ausschließlich aus Betttüchern, zwischen denen auch die Bettdecke eingewickelt ist.
  
  Die Küchenausstattung scheint aus alten, ausrangierten Beständen improvisiert worden zu sein; Kaffeepads oder Tee gibt es nicht. Gastfreundschaft sieht anders aus.
