Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from GetTheKey Barberia Apartment when I first turned onto Via Barberia – the street’s pretty narrow and feels tucked away from the main tourist chaos, which actually turned out to be perfect. You know what struck me immediately? The building has this authentic Bologna vibe without trying too hard, and the apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room.

The location is seriously underrated. I mean, you’re right in Saragozza, which locals will tell you is one of those neighborhoods that still feels genuinely Bolognese. There’s this little osteria about two blocks down that I stumbled into on my second night – the kind of place where they don’t even have an English menu, but the pasta was incredible. And here’s the thing about staying on Via Barberia: you can walk to the historic center in maybe fifteen minutes, but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups. The street itself is quiet at night, which I really appreciated after some louder accommodations I’ve had in Italian cities.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail – and I don’t mean fancy amenities, just thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares. The kitchen is properly equipped (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some local cheese and prosciutto breakfasts), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment, and the shower has decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled in Italy, you know that’s not always a given. The 4-star rating feels accurate – it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being flashy. There were a few minor things, like the air conditioning took a while to cool the bedroom and the nearest parking is a bit of a walk, but honestly, those are pretty standard for Bologna’s older neighborhoods. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place where everything works smoothly, the location grows on you, and you’d definitely book it again. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels connected to the actual city rather than floating in some tourist bubble.
