I walked to the university area in about fifteen minutes, and getting to the historic center took maybe twenty-five minutes on foot – though honestly, I mostly used the bus because Bologna’s public transport is surprisingly good. The free parking situation is legitimately clutch here because anyone who’s tried to park in Italian city centers knows it’s usually a nightmare. There’s actually a decent spot right outside, and the hosts were super clear about where to leave the car without getting a ticket.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a 4-star spot. The A/C works properly (not always a given in older Italian buildings), and there’s this lovely natural light that fills the space in the mornings. The neighborhood has that authentic Bologna feel – you’ll hear the occasional vespa puttering by, but it’s never loud enough to keep you awake. I loved that there’s a little alimentari just down the street where the owner remembers your face after two days, and you can grab proper prosciutto and parmigiano for breakfast. The hosts clearly know their stuff too – they gave me this handwritten list of local spots that wasn’t just the usual tourist traps. Found this incredible osteria about ten minutes away that I never would have discovered otherwise.

The whole experience feels refreshingly unpolished in the best way. Check-in was relaxed, the space has character without being precious about it, and you get the sense that real thought went into making guests comfortable rather than just checking boxes. That 9.1 rating? Yeah, I get it – it’s the kind of place where small touches add up to something genuinely special.   La casa è piuttosto piccola e datata ma è stata ristrutturata in modo intelligente per cui lo spazio è sfruttato in modo perfetto. Non manca nessun servizio, condizionatori, forno, lavatrice, linea internet con Smart TV connessa e addirittura il parcheggio per l'auto per chi ne avesse bisogno. La casa è indipendente e si trova in una via minore con la presenza di un piccolo giardino. Non ci sono poi parole sufficienti per definire la gentilezza di Michele, il proprietario, che si è dimostrato disponibile ad aiutarci quando ne abbiamo avuto bisogno (il soggiorno è stato per motivi legati alla salute di un famigliare purtroppo)
