Fluère – Via Riva Reno Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Fluère – Via Riva Reno, you immediately get that “this place gets it” feeling. It’s one of those four-star boutique spots that manages to feel both polished and genuinely welcoming — no stuffy lobby vibes here. The design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary Italian style and actual comfort, which honestly isn’t as common as you’d think in Bologna. From the moment you step through the doors, the attention to detail becomes apparent in every corner of the hotel.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re on Via Riva di Reno, which puts you right in the sweet spot of Bologna’s centro storico without being stuck in the tourist chaos. You can actually walk to Piazza Maggiore in about ten minutes, but the street itself has this lovely residential feel with local cafes and shops. The area comes alive in the evenings when locals head out for aperitivo, and you’ll find yourself naturally falling into that rhythm. This neighborhood positioning makes it ideal for travelers seeking authentic experiences.

The Room Experience

The room design is what really won me over — clean lines, quality materials, but nothing that screams “look how design-forward we are.” You know what I mean? The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-comfortable), and the bathrooms feel spacious even in the standard rooms. There’s this attention to lighting that makes everything feel warm rather than clinical, which matters more than you’d think after a long day exploring the city. Each room is thoughtfully appointed with modern amenities and elegant furnishings.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have this easy flow to them. The breakfast setup isn’t massive, but it’s thoughtfully curated with local pastries and proper Italian coffee — the kind where you don’t need to hunt down a separate cafe afterward. The staff actually seems to enjoy their work, which creates this relaxed atmosphere where you don’t feel rushed. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, just watching the neighborhood wake up through the windows. The dining experience sets a welcoming tone for each day of your stay.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back is how the hotel manages to feel like a discovery rather than just accommodation. Couples especially seem drawn to the place — there’s something about the intimate scale and the way the rooms are designed that makes it feel romantic without being overly themed. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly, from check-in to recommendations for dinner spots that locals actually frequent. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay if you can manage it. The combination of thoughtful service, elegant design, and genuine hospitality creates an unforgettable experience that guests consistently praise.

Best hotels in Bologna blend frescoed salons, courtyard gardens, and tasting menus celebrating Emilia-Romagna cuisine.

Reviews of Fluère – Via Riva Reno

  • Excellent, cosy – Yunus from Turkey – 6 July 2025 (10/10)

Federica’s a great host. She had a great list of favorite food/drink spots in the city. The things she left on the table and in the fridge for breakfast were amazing. She helped with everything. I can say it's one of the best apartments I've stayed in so far.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Three days in Bologna – Debbie from United States – 2 April 2025 (10/10)

Federica met us at the time we needed and explained everything about the apartment. She gave good recommendations for places to eat and things to do with links to maps. She offered to book a taxi for our early morning departure.
It was our first time to Bologna and the location was within a 10 to 15 minute walk to most things. The apartment is small but had everything we needed.

  • Exceptional – Венцислава from Bulgaria – 17 January 2025 (10/10)

Everything was perfect – location, accomodation, there is everything you might need in the apartment.

  • Exceptional – Mihael from Slovenia – 1 December 2024 (10/10)

We had a wonderful stay in this clean and comfortable apartment! Federica, the owner, was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is in a fantastic location, with a grocery store right across the street and just a short walk from the Mercato delle Erbe, Piazza Maggiore, MAMbo, Via dell'Indipendenza, and amazing restaurants and shops. It was the perfect base for exploring Bologna. We had an unforgettable time and can’t wait to come back. Bologna, see you soon!

  • Great location – Martin from Bulgaria – 9 November 2024 (10/10)

Clean, has all that you need and very close to center and rail station.

  • Exceptional – Andrew from Australia – 9 August 2024 (10/10)

A beautiful little apartment with all the comfort of your own little house, perfect when you have been living out of a suitcase for over a month. The location was great within walking distance of all the major attractions of Bologna as well as some nice bars and restaurants. Also only a short walk from the train station. Also the host was very friendly and gave some great recommendations too.

  • Great location, responsive host, clean and well equipped – Katrina from United Kingdom – 25 July 2024 (10/10)

Great location- close to train station as well as main attractions. Supermarket, pharmacy and bank across the road. Host was great at communicating and very responsive. The place was very clean and well equipped for a short term stay.

  • A little gem in the heart of Bologna. – Ruxandra from Netherlands – 9 July 2024 (10/10)

I stayed for almost a week (visited for work) and the property was beyond expectations. I was surprised that this was available when booking something on short notice. It's newly renovated, modern and arranged with taste. All is very clean and every corner is well designed to save space. It has everything it mentions in the description. The washing machine works great, the iron facilities were helpful, the AC works well (although it was not always necessary as it wasn't that hot), the windows have mosquito screens which was a pleasant surprise, the wifi is very good and stable (also for video calls). The kitchen area is small, but it has everything it needs. The shower was really great! The property is on the first floor (elevator available). The building is close to the main train station (within 15 min. walk) and within walking distance from the Piazza Maggiore. It is located at a busy street, but the apartment faces the backyard and is soundproof, so it's always quiet. There is a supermarket nearby and the mercato is within 5 min walk. Federica is very nice and helpful, gave me many helpful tips. I would certainly return here in the future.

What could be improved: I cannot think of anything. I stayed for a week and I liked everything about this apartment.
