Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Bologna, and FASHION APARTMENT SILVER is one of those finds that actually lives up to its 9.2 rating – which, honestly, seemed too good to be true when I first booked it. The thing is, it’s tucked away on Via Ermanno Galeotti in the San Donato area, and while that might not sound glamorous to tourists obsessing over staying right in the centro storico, locals know this neighborhood is where you get the real Bologna experience without the tourist markup. I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes from Piazza Maggiore by bus, but you’re paying half the price and actually sleeping at night because you’re not above some bar that’s blasting music until 3 AM.

The apartment itself – and it really is more of a stylish apartment than a traditional hotel room – has this whole modern aesthetic that somehow doesn’t feel cold or sterile. When they say “fashion” in the name, they’re not kidding around. The design is sleek, lots of clean lines and neutral tones, but there are these little touches that make it feel lived-in rather than showroom-perfect. The bed is seriously comfortable (I’m talking about that perfect firmness that doesn’t leave you feeling like you slept on concrete), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually has good pressure – you know how hit-or-miss those can be. What I really appreciated was the kitchenette situation; it’s not just a mini-fridge and a sad coffee maker, but actually functional if you want to grab some fresh pasta from the local market and cook dinner. The San Donato area has this fantastic morning market on Saturdays where the produce is incredible, and being able to bring it back and actually use it was a game-changer for a longer stay.

Here’s what really sold me on the place though – the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a 4-star spot. Check-in was smooth (they actually answered their phone when I called about arriving early), parking isn’t a nightmare like it is in the historic center, and the whole building is quiet enough that you can actually open the windows at night without regretting it. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re working remotely, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. Plus, there’s this little gelateria about two blocks away that’s completely under the radar – I watched the owner make fresh stracciatella every morning, and tourists have no idea it exists. That’s the kind of thing you get when you stay in a real neighborhood instead of the tourist bubble. If you’re the type who wants to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives there, rather than just hitting the major sights and calling it a day, this place gets it right.

  Easy check-in and check-out, and the drive from the highway was straightforward. The private garage parking was also a great advantage. Highly recommended!
  
  If you arrive by car, I suggest stopping directly in front of the accommodation to unload your luggage and then parking peacefully just "around the corner" in the garage.
  
  The journey to the city center takes some time, but as soon as you pass through the historic city gates, you can fully enjoy the true Bologna atmosphere.

  In general the apartment is really nice.
  It has a good air conditioning, the beds are also good, the kitchen is well equipped with all the basic requirements to cook.
  The apartment is located really close to the center city, which allowed us to go walking there or even bike riding
  We were also presented with a nice breakfast (milk, orange juice, bread, cookies and small croissants)
  The hosts are really nice and are always available for any questions

  We were very happy about this apartment, it has everything you may need in your trip. A free parking place is very nice too because it is really not easy to find a place to park somewhere around. Perfect location, just 30 minutes on foot to town center. We liked breakfast, especially eggs and milk we found left in a fridge 😃 we are not italians so small croissant with small cup of coffee would not be enough for us 😃
