High ceilings, original architectural details, the kind of thick walls that keep everything beautifully cool even when Bologna gets sweltering in summer.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to make it feel both grand and actually livable. I mean, you’ve got these incredible period features – think ornate moldings and floors that creak in exactly the right way – but then the kitchen is properly equipped (not just some sad mini-fridge situation), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works. The whole place feels like staying in your sophisticated Italian friend’s family home, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a thing for luxury linens. The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives there. You’re a five-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but Via Goito itself is residential enough that you hear church bells instead of scooters at night. There’s this little alimentari around the corner where the owner will slice your prosciutto paper-thin and recommend wines, plus you’re close enough to the university area that you get that authentic Bologna energy without being right in the thick of student party central.

The whole experience feels refreshingly personal – when I had questions about the neighborhood, I got actual local recommendations, not just generic tourist stuff. They pointed me toward this tiny osteria that doesn’t even have a sign, where I had probably the best tortellini of my entire trip. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (it’s Bologna, after all), but they help you figure out the permit situation, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway.   Comfortable and clean modern apartment in fantastic location. We appreciated the host's guidebook with many helpful suggestions.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was very well-stocked but they forgot the laundry detergent – an honest mistake and they brought some the next morning. Stair railing was wobbly. Although this was a nice, modern apartment I would not describe it as luxury. Perfectly nice though and suited our needs for a two night stay.

  Muy buena ubicación para visitar la ciudad. Es un apartamento espacioso y con una bonita decoración. Las camas son cómodas. La cocina está bien equipada. Los baños tienen un buen tamaño.
  
  What could be improved: El sofá cama no era cómodo y tenía una funda rota. El agua de la ducha salía con mucha fuerza y la mampara era insuficiente por lo que había agua por todo el suelo. No encontramos fregona. La barandilla es un poco insegura.
  El sofá era incómodo y desprendía un olor extraño como si alguien hubiera vomitado y no se hubiera limpiado en profundidad.

  Fabulous apartment in an ancient building, really well decorated and high spec modern. Had two bathrooms. Really close to the centre and on a buzzy backstreet near restaurants and bars.

  What could be improved: Lovely apartment, but the (really old looking) AC broke down after the first night which meant we literally lived within a baking oven. It was so hot inside we could hardly find any sleep. For the remaining 3 days the hosts offered to bring over fans, but with 37°C outside that didn't help (and actually wasn't what we paid for). Unfortunately, this took a lot of the joy out of our vacation.
