Elizabeth Lifestyle Hotel Overview

You know what struck me first about the Elizabeth Lifestyle Hotel? The lobby actually feels like someone’s really well-designed living room rather than that typical sterile hotel reception area. I mean, you walk in and there’s this mix of modern Italian design with just enough warmth that you don’t feel like you’re in a showroom. The staff behind the front desk seemed genuinely happy to see guests – not that forced hospitality thing you get sometimes.

The location on Via Ferrarese is honestly pretty smart. It’s far enough from the centro storico that you’re not dealing with tourist chaos right outside your door, but close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to Piazza Maggiore. What I really appreciated was being near the university area – there’s this authentic energy around there, plus some fantastic little trattorias that locals actually eat at. The neighborhood has that lived-in Bologna feel, if that makes sense. You’ll hear students chatting in the evenings, smell fresh bread from the bakery down the street in the mornings, and honestly, parking is way less of a nightmare than it would be deeper in the old city.

The rooms themselves are well… they’re thoughtfully done. Not huge, but the layout works and everything feels intentional rather than cramped. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a European hotel, and the shower pressure was actually decent (you know how that can be a gamble). What really got me was the attention to small details – proper bedside lighting for reading, enough outlets in useful places, and the air conditioning that actually worked quietly. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Bologna, but it gets the fundamentals right and adds some genuine style on top. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which honestly matters more than people want to admit. I stayed during a busy conference season and never felt like the staff was overwhelmed or rushing through interactions. There’s something to be said for a place that knows what it is and does it well – not flashy, just comfortable and smart about what travelers actually need.

Reviews of Elizabeth Lifestyle Hotel

  • Very good – Marektop from Slovakia – 15 July 2025 (8/10)

I liked hotel, all staff was extremely nice, room clean, overall service was very good.

What could be improved: The breakfast was not 4star standard.

  • Great hotel , just a little out of town – Sandra from United Kingdom – 25 June 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was lovely. Our room was beautiful.it was spacious and well decorated with an extra large bed. The hotel staff were fantastic advising us about local restaurants and buses into the centre of Bologna. The hotel also had a car park.

What could be improved: The hotel was great just a little further away from the historic centre than we realised. You could get the number 25 bus or do a 25-minute walk.

  • A very pleasant stay with a clean and comfortable room and very polite, helpful and smiley staff. – Natasha from United Kingdom – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast was excellent – so much choice. Delightful service. I wasn’t keen on the coffee that was on offer so the waitress willingly (with a smile) made me a double espresso from another machine.
One little thing – half of the toaster didn’t work so only 2 slices of toast could be made at a time, which isn’t ideal when several guests want toast at the same time.

What could be improved: Nothing much to report to be honest. Everything was fine.

  • Good – Konstantinos from Greece – 11 June 2025 (7/10)

Spacious room, easy acces by transportation to city centre

What could be improved: Limited Breakfast Choices. Private parking too expensive. No iron or ironing service.

  • Superb – Dragos from Germany – 9 June 2025 (9/10)

The location was good. Not that close to the center but there is a bus stop right across the street so it was easy to get there. Breakfast was great and rich. The room was clean and the staff was nice.

  • Lovely hotel. Recommend! – Green from Sweden – 29 May 2025 (8/10)

Really nice room but would really liked some chairs on the balcony and vegetables on the breakfast table. Super friendly staff with great service level

What could be improved: The loud neighbors

  • Superb – Tera from Canada – 28 May 2025 (9/10)

The bed was huge and comfy, the breakfast was good, the room was nicely decorated, and it had parking

  • Comfy and clean – Vlad from Romania – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

    Cleanliness of the room.
King size bed (2 x 1,40m) in Junior Suite.
    View from 8th floor

What could be improved: Breakfast could be improved.

  • Good – James from Malta – 12 May 2025 (7/10)

    good rooms

What could be improved: receptionists were not friendly
there is something tired about the hotel which is not apparent from the photos. the road in is full of potholes.
calling it a "lifestyle" hotel is not accurate – there is nothing "lifestyle" about it. it is a decent 3 star hotel 25 mins walk from the city centre. there is also a bus which conveniently leaves from near the hotel, but it is not reliable / does not run to timetable.

  • Perfect staff, – Can from Turkey – 12 May 2025 (8/10)

    Staff, cleaning

    What could be improved: Breakfast
