You know what struck me first about Dimora Galliera? It’s tucked into this gorgeous old palazzo on Via Galliera, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking – which is actually part of its charm. The building itself has that weathered Bologna elegance, all terracotta and stone, sitting just a few blocks from Piazza Maggiore but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos every time you step outside.

The location is sort of perfect, actually. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Two Towers (though let’s be real, everything in Bologna centro feels like a five-minute walk until you factor in getting lost in those medieval streets). But here’s the thing locals know – Via Galliera connects you straight to the university quarter, so there’s this great energy around dinner time when students are heading out, plus some really solid osterie that tourists haven’t completely discovered yet. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re inside. The rooms have this understated Italian sophistication – not the Instagram-perfect kind, but the kind where someone actually thought about lighting and picked furniture that feels substantial. The bathrooms are what really got me though, with these beautiful tiles that look original but clearly aren’t (thank god, because the water pressure is fantastic).

What I appreciated most was how the staff handled everything without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth, they knew the neighborhood well enough to give actual recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the obvious spots, and when I needed to store luggage after checkout, it wasn’t a big production. The breakfast situation is solid too – nothing fancy, but proper coffee and pastries from a local fornitore, not some industrial supplier. You can tell they put thought into sourcing things locally. One small thing – the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights since there are some bars nearby, but honestly, that’s Bologna for you, and the windows block most of it. Plus, if you’re the type who goes to bed at 9 PM, you probably shouldn’t be staying in the heart of an Italian city anyway. The whole area comes alive after dark, especially Thursday through Saturday, and being able to stumble back to a quiet, comfortable room after exploring the local aperitivo scene is pretty much ideal.

  Location is great and property was very clean with enough kitchen equipment, there are restaurants/cafes/supermarkets nearby, so all were meeting with our expectation. All stuff was very helpful in general. We arrived to city very early in the morning, house was not ready at that time to check-in but we could leave our luggages in the office in safety boxes.
  
  What could be improved: There was no toilet paper when we enter the house, Lorenzo brought them in half an hour🙏🏼 It would be also great to have some paper towel in the house. All 3 beds were double, could be good to have separate beds in some rooms.

  Appartement très bien placé qui permet de tout faire à pied, à environ 10 mn de marche de la piazza Maggiore. Pour le côté pratique boulangerie et petit supermarché dans la rue.
  Appartement conforme à la description. 2 salles de bain sont nécessaires pour 6 ou 7 personnes
  
  What could be improved: L'hôte est peu flexible pour la remise des clés. Nous avions demandé si nous pouvions déposer les bagages avant 15 H. Cela n'a pas été possible.
  Au niveau des équipements de cuisine, il manque beaucoup de choses. Nous avons demandé une passoire à thé qui nous a été apporté très rapidement. Il n'y avait que 5 fourchettes. Elles nous ont été rapportées le lendemain.
  En revanche, il manque un plat ou deux pour aller au four. Celui ci existe bien mais il n'y a pas de plat.
  1 seul saladier pour 6 à 8 personnes !! Pas de panier à salade ni couverts à salade. Pas de cafetière italienne ni de micro ondes.
  Le lave vaisselle sentait horriblement mauvais. De plus, il n'était pas en état de fonctionnement. Ils sont venus le réparer.
  Toutefois, avec si peu de vaisselle, vous ne pouvez pas l'utiliser ou alors le faire tourner à chaque repas.
  S'il vous plait, pour une telle prestation, doublez le nombre d'assiettes nous paraitrait normal.

  Bardzo wygodny apartament dla 6 osób. 3 sypialnie z wygodnymi łóżkami oraz 2 łazienki, czysta pościel i ręczniki, dużo miejsca do przechowywania bagażu.W kuchni i łazience startery. Lokalizacja zdecydowanie na plus blisko do Bologna Centrale, plac Maggiore spacerkiem, zaopatrywaliśmy się w oddalonym o 500m wspaniałe zaopatrzonym PAMie.
  
  What could be improved: Przez parę dni w lokalu unosił się zapach papierosów musieliśmy wietrzyć w miarę możliwości. Prawdopodobnie to była pozostałość po poprzednich gościach bo w końcu udało się go pozbyć.

  Dużym plusem były 2 łazienki przy takiej ilości sypialni. Dotykowo super lokalizacja, wygodne łóżka, w pełni wyposażona kuchnia.

  Very nice property, Guilean met us as scheduled. The apartment was perfect for our adult family of four. Location was convenient to everything! This is our second time in Bologna and we would certainly choose this apartment on a return trip!
  
  What could be improved: A shelf to hold items in the shower would be a nice addition rather than having to use the floor! But certainly not something that would change our ratings.
