The Colonna Home sits right in Galleria Acquaderni – which, if you know Bologna at all, puts you literally in the heart of everything without being stuck on some touristy main drag. I mean, you’re basically living where actual Bolognese people shop and grab their morning coffee.

The whole “Under the Two Towers” thing isn’t just cute marketing speak – you actually are that close to the Asinelli and Garisenda towers. But here’s what I really loved: the hotel feels like someone’s incredibly stylish apartment that they decided to share. The rooms have this warm, lived-in elegance that’s so much better than those sterile luxury chains. You know what I mean? Like, there’s actual character here. The staff – and this matters more than people think – they’re not just polite, they’re genuinely helpful about stuff like where to find the best tortellini that isn’t a tourist trap (try Osteria del Sole, by the way, though you’ll need to bring your own food and just buy the wine).

What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe. Step outside and you’re on Via del Pratello within five minutes – that’s where the locals actually go for aperitivo. The university area is right there too, so there’s this great energy without being overwhelming. Parking can be a bit of a dance (welcome to Bologna), but the hotel staff knows all the tricks and they’ll sort you out. The rooms themselves are quiet despite being so central, which honestly shocked me because Italian city hotels can be… well, let’s just say you usually hear everything. Here, even during the weekend when students are out, I slept perfectly fine. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places where every detail feels intentional but not fussy. The breakfast spread actually includes local stuff, not just the standard hotel buffet nonsense, and the coffee is proper Italian coffee, not that watered-down tourist version. If you’re coming during peak season (basically April through October), book early because word’s getting out about this place, but honestly, even in winter Bologna has this cozy charm that makes the slightly gray days feel atmospheric rather than depressing.

  Le centre se visite à pieds.

  Super Lage, sehr besondere Lage, schöne Terrasse und eben mitten drin in der wuseligen Stadt hat man einen schönen meist ruhigen Platz zum Ausspannen.

  Todo perfecto. La ubicación inmejorable, la amabilidad de la agencia excelente, cómodo, calentito, tenia todo lo que necesitábamos para nuestra estadía. Un plus de quien nos alquilo, nos permitió dejar las maletas desde la hora del check out hasta la hora que salía nuestro avión. GRACIAS!!!

  The location was excellent. Right in the heart of the city and next to a great cafe. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. I would stay there again.
