You know what surprised me about UR-NEST Battisti? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street in Saragozza, and honestly, I walked right past it the first time – the entrance is so understated compared to some of the flashier places around Bologna. But that’s actually part of its charm. Via Cesare Battisti is one of those residential streets where locals actually live, not just tourist central, so you get a real feel for the neighborhood. I mean, there’s this little café about two blocks down where the owner remembers your order after day two, and the morning sounds are church bells and scooters, not tour buses.

The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Italian feel – thick walls that actually keep the noise out (trust me, I’m a light sleeper), and the rooms have this modern comfort thing going on without trying too hard to be trendy. The beds are properly firm, which I appreciate, and the bathrooms are well… they work really well, hot water doesn’t run out mid-shower like some places I’ve stayed. What I really liked was the attention to small stuff – good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, windows that actually open properly. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, not just going through the motions. When I had issues with the WiFi on my first night, someone was up there within ten minutes with a solution, not just “have you tried turning it off and on again?”

Here’s the thing about the location though – you’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk from the main action around Piazza Maggiore, but that’s actually perfect. Close enough that you can stumble back after dinner and drinks, far enough that you’re not dealing with crowds of day-trippers at 7 AM. The Saragozza area has this lived-in quality where you’ll see the same faces at the local market, and there’s this fantastic little osteria around the corner that doesn’t even have a sign – just follow the smell of ragù. Plus, if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center, the bus connections are solid, and parking (if you’re brave enough to drive in Bologna) is way less of a nightmare than in the historic center. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be everything to everyone – it’s just really good at being a comfortable, well-run hotel in a genuine neighborhood. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Die Unterkunft ist sehr groß und offen gestaltet. So fühlt man sich selbst mit 7 Personen nicht eingeengt. Außerdem ist die Lage der Unterkunft wirklich hervorragend und total zentral.
  
  What could be improved: Das ausziehbare Schlafsofa im Wohnbereich ist ziemlich unbequem, wenn man zu Zweit darauf schläft. Ist aber für einen kürzeren Aufenthalt völlig in Ordnung.

  מיקום מצוין. מאוד מרכזי ויחד עם זאת שקט מאוד. הגענו ב9.30 בבוקר ונתנו לנו להכניס ללא תשלום נוסף. זה ממש לא מובן מאליו!
  מרווח ומאובזר בטוב טעם. יש מעלית. הרגשנו מוגנים. ביקשנו כלי מיטה נוספים ונעזרנו בהזמנת מונית. ענו לנו גם במייל וגם בטלפון תוך דקות ספורות.
  
  What could be improved: אפשר לשפר את המקלחון. המראה בחדר שינה אחת אפשר להוסיף.
