Casa Ena Overview

You know what struck me first about Casa Ena? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street in Saragozza – Via Collegio di Spagna – and honestly, I almost walked right past it. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Italian way where luxury doesn’t need to shout about itself. Inside though, wow. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance that immediately made me think “okay, someone who actually cares about hospitality runs this place.” The staff greeted me like I was visiting family, which – after dealing with those massive chain hotels near Centrale – felt like such a breath of fresh air.

What really gets me about this spot is how it sits in the neighborhood. Saragozza is where actual Bolognesi live, you know? You’re a quick walk from the centro storico, but you’re also surrounded by these amazing local trattorias that tourists never find. There’s this incredible osteria literally around the corner where the nonna still makes tortellini by hand every morning – I mean, you can smell the ragù from the hotel’s front door around noon. The rooms themselves are beautifully done without being fussy about it. Mine had these gorgeous restored wooden beams and the bathroom had heated floors (which, let me tell you, is a game-changer in November). The beds are properly comfortable too – not too soft, not too firm. I actually slept better there than I do at home, which rarely happens when I travel.

Here’s the thing about Casa Ena that’ll probably matter to you: it feels authentic without trying too hard. The breakfast spread includes local pastries from a bakery down the street, and the coffee is genuinely excellent – not that weird hotel coffee that tastes like it’s been sitting around for hours. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area, but the hotel sorted that out for me without any fuss. The whole place runs so smoothly that I didn’t even think about logistics, which is exactly what you want from a 4-star place. With a 9.3 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’ve got something special going on here. If you’re the type who wants to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives there – walking to the market in the morning, discovering that perfect aperitivo spot, getting lost in streets that aren’t full of tour groups – this is your place. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every euro for the experience of staying somewhere that genuinely cares about getting it right.

  Tolle Ferienwohnung in zentraler, aber ruhiger Lage. Sehr großzügige Räumlichkeiten. Haben wir für die letzte Nacht vor der Rückreise gleich noch mal gebucht.
  
  What could be improved: In Zeiten des in vielen von Tourismus geprägten Regionen Europas aufkommenden "Tourist go home!" (…was verständlich ist wegen des Wegfalls von Wohnraum und der damit verbundenen Verdrängung der Bevölkerung…) fühlt man sich leider oft ein wenig unwohl, wenn man für seine Ferien eine solch schöne Altbau-Wohnung in Anspruch nimmt. Bleibt die Hoffnung, dass die Situation in Bologna im Allgemeinen (Leerstand) und bei der gewählten Unterkunft im Speziellen anders gelagert ist.

  Piękne, stylowe mieszkanie z wszystkimi udogodnieniami. Bardzo czysto i wygodnie. Okolica cicha i spokojna, bardzo blisko Piazza Maggiore. Czuliśmy się bezpiecznie,nawet wieczorem.
  Zameldowanie bezproblemowe (klucze czekały w skrzynce), możliwość pozostawienia bagażu po wymeldowaniu.
  Super kontakt z Isabellą, dostaliśmy też wskazówki gdzie zjeść i zrobić małe zakupy.
  Będziemy wszystkim polecać,a jak wrócimy do Bolonii to na pewno do Casa Ena.
