Casa Curcio Overview

You know what? Casa Curcio is one of those places that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something special without really trying. I mean, Via di Corticella isn’t exactly where most tourists end up wandering – it’s more of a real Bologna neighborhood, which honestly makes it even better. The hotel sits in this quiet residential area where you’ll actually hear Italian families going about their daily lives instead of just other travelers dragging suitcases around.

The building itself has this understated elegance that feels authentically Italian rather than trying too hard. When you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of calm – maybe it’s the way the light filters through the windows, or how the staff actually remembers your name after the first day. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed; everything feels intentional but not fussy. The beds are properly comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), plus there’s enough space to actually unpack without playing Tetris with your luggage. What really got me was the attention to small details – good lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and bathrooms that don’t make you feel like you’re in a submarine.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to fully appreciate: you’re about a 15-minute walk from the historic center, but that walk takes you through neighborhoods where you’ll pass the kind of local bars where nonnas sip their morning coffee and kids kick soccer balls in small piazzas. There’s a decent bus connection if you’re not feeling the walk, and – this matters more than you’d think – parking is actually manageable here, unlike in the city center where it’s basically impossible. The staff knows the area inside and out, so they’ll point you toward that little osteria three blocks away that doesn’t have a sign but makes incredible tortellini, or tell you which mornings the local market is worth visiting. The 9.3 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not flashy or trying to impress anyone, it’s just consistently good at the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. Plus, Bologna in general doesn’t get the crowds that Rome or Florence do, so you can enjoy the city without feeling like you’re fighting for space everywhere you go.

  L’appartamento è molto ben curato. Noi abbiamo soggiornato lì per la vicinanza con Sequoie Music Park che si raggiunge a piedi in un attimo! Ci torneremo sicuramente per i prossimi concerti!

  L'alloggio è dotato di ogni tipo di comfort: sia parlando di bagno (prodotti, elettrodomestici, asciugamani …), sia parlando di cucina (elettrodomestici, utensili, raccolta differenziata, ecc…).
  Le due camere da letto sono dotate entrambe di una smart TV (presente anche nel salotto/cucina) e di ampi armadi. In più ogni stanza è presente l'aria condizionata.
  La posizione è comoda visto che percorrendo solo la via in cui si trova la casa si raggiunge sia la Stazione che il Centro. Risulta un po' distante se non si è muniti di macchina.
  
  L'host infine è una persona molto alla mano è disponibile, pronto a venire incontro ad ogni tipo di esigenza.
  Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
  
  What could be improved: L'unica pecca che abbiamo trovato riguarda il bagno, le finestre non sono dotate di una "tapparella" ed essendo un locale esposto al sole, la temperatura della stanza risultava sempre molto alta.

  Modern, two bedroom apartment. Absolute purity. Very well equipped. Friendly and helpful owner. The possibility of paid parking right under the house, usually with a free space.
  
  What could be improved: Poor accessibility for some (1st floor without a lift), directly to the center of Bologna a little further, about 1.5 km.
