You know what surprised me most about this place? It’s actually in Borgo Panigale, which sounds super fancy but is honestly just a really practical part of Bologna that most tourists completely skip over. I mean, Via Emilia Ponente isn’t exactly the postcard-perfect historic center, but hear me out – sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

The apartment itself is solid. Two proper bedrooms, which is harder to find than you’d think in Bologna without paying tourist prices, and the parking situation is genuinely a relief. I can’t stress this enough – if you’re driving in Bologna, having a guaranteed parking spot is like winning the lottery. The streets around here aren’t the narrow medieval ones that’ll give you anxiety attacks trying to navigate with luggage. It’s more modern, wider, and honestly… well, it just works. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there because it delivers on the practical stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. Clean, comfortable, and the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living in a shoebox.

What I really appreciated was how it sits right on the main artery heading west out of the city. You’re maybe 15 minutes from the centro storico by bus – the 35 line runs pretty regularly – but you’re also perfectly positioned if you want to explore outside Bologna. Day trips to Modena or even Parma are totally doable from here. The neighborhood has this lived-in feeling that I actually prefer to staying right in the tourist bubble. There’s a decent supermarket within walking distance, and the morning sounds are more everyday Italian life than tour groups. You’ll hear kids heading to school, not someone with a megaphone explaining the history of every fountain. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the air feels cleaner here. The centro can get pretty stuffy in summer with all the crowds and narrow streets trapping the heat. Here you get actual breezes, and there’s something refreshing about having space to breathe. The four-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be boutique or Instagram-perfect, but everything works the way it should, and after a day of walking around Bologna’s cobblestones, you’ll appreciate coming back to somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room.

  Situé au calme, vous vous réveillez au son des cigales. L’appartement est très bien, un hall d’entrée, deux chambres spacieuses. La salle de bain et la cuisine sont plus étroites, mais très fonctionnelles. L’arrêt du bus est à 100m, il faut prendre le 23 pour aller vers la vieille ville de Bologne et s’arrêter à Lame. Un supermarché près de l’immeuble, ce qui est pratique. Le parking n’est pas grand, mais on a pu y parquer notre voiture qui est un grand modèle. Le propriétaire a été de bons conseils pour les restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: La poignée du mitigeur de la douche ne tient plus, c’est assez surprenant la première fois. Il y a également une odeur d’égout dans la salle de bain, qui disparaît en ouvrant la fenêtre. Ce serait bien d’y mettre une moustiquaire, car je me suis fait dévorer par les moustiques…

  Lovely apartment with great location for buses into Bologna town centre and with parking on site you can have a car for travelling further afield.
  Our host Edoardo was super helpful and answered all our questions quickly and easily.
  
  Spacious apartment and room for 4 comfortably. There’s a sofa bed which would accommodate another 2 but with only one bathroom it might be a squeeze.
  
  Kitchen has fridge, freezer, oven and hob. There’s a washing machine in the property too. There’s air con and radiators too and little balconies.
  
  Some lovely restaurants near by and super handy to a few shops as well. Great wee coffee shop/Gelateria down the road as well.
  
  What could be improved: Whilst Edoardo was great at answering any questions, it might be helpful to have a paper guide in the property on how to use the appliances including air conditioning, oven etc. and links to bus timetables, or points of interest in local area. This is more of a nice to have than necessity as you can always google these.
