BOLOGNA QUARTIERE SAVENA – APPARTAMENTO DI STEFANO Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to BOLOGNA QUARTIERE SAVENA – APPARTAMENTO DI STEFANO, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical residential building on Via Emilia Levante. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight. This four-star apartment completely changed my perspective on staying outside Bologna’s historic center, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The Savena Advantage
Here’s something most tourists don’t realize — staying in the Savena district actually puts you in a sweet spot. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos to feel like you’re living among locals, but close enough that getting into Bologna proper takes maybe fifteen minutes by bus or car. The Via Emilia Levante runs straight into the city, so navigation is dead simple. Plus, there’s something refreshing about walking to the local market in the morning and hearing actual Italian conversations instead of guidebook phrases. The neighborhood has genuine character that extends beyond typical tourist attractions.
The Space Itself
Stefano’s place feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in typical hotel accommodation. The room setup is thoughtfully arranged — you’ve got proper living space that doesn’t feel cramped, and honestly, the kitchen situation is better than what I have at home. I actually cooked pasta one evening (when in Bologna, right?), and everything I needed was there. The whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. Every corner reflects attention to detail and genuine hospitality.
Practical Perks
Let me tell you about the parking situation — it’s free, which in Italy is basically like finding a unicorn. I spent zero time circling blocks or feeding meters, which meant more time exploring and less stress about where to leave the car. The location scores aren’t just numbers either; couples genuinely love this spot because it strikes that perfect balance between authentic neighborhood vibes and easy access to everything Bologna offers. You’re not paying tourist-trap prices for your morning coffee, but you can still be at Piazza Maggiore before lunch. This combination of affordability and accessibility makes it exceptional.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.2 rating isn’t inflated — this place delivers on the details that actually matter when you’re traveling. There’s reliable WiFi for those inevitable “let me just check one email” moments, the shower has proper water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking), and Stefano responds quickly when you need something. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Bologna trip before you’ve even checked out, thinking about how nice it would be to have this as your home base again. The experience lingers long after departure.
Bologna’s hotels wrap guests in Renaissance art, rooftop lounges, and concierge-led Mortadella market tours.

The apartment is large, with a nice balcony, well equipped. A quite area, near the railway station Bologna Mazzini which is very convenient for those wanting to travel to other places. Also, the bus station is 3 minutes away from location.
Ottima soluzione per visitare Bologna in famiglia – Anna from Italy – 7 October 2024 (10/10)
Exceptional – Lamberto from Italy – 6 October 2024 (10/10)

Best place of our one month in ItalyNice neighbourhood with playgrounds for small kids and good for grocery shopping local food. – Helga from Iceland – 4 July 2024 (8/10)
The location is good if you are visiting Bologna with a car and a family. You can park the car for free on the streets around this area. Then it is easy to take the bus (20 min) to down town Bologna for all the interesting sights and culture. And the bus stop is a few steps away from the house. Kitchen is fairly well equipped and has a dishwasher. The shower was good. A bidet but no bathtub. The was a powerful air conditioning in bedroom and living room.
What could be improved: The appartment is on the 3rd floor (4 flights up) and there is no elevator. Good to know if you are not strong and travelling with luggage. We enjoyed our stay and would return in the future. – Chantal from Canada – 2 July 2024 (8/10)
It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a washing machine. The AC and Wifi worked very well.
