You know what struck me first about Belmeloro Home? It’s actually tucked into this narrow medieval street that feels like you’ve stumbled into old Bologna by accident. Via Belmeloro is one of those cobblestone lanes where you can practically touch the buildings on both sides if you stretch your arms out – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place special. The hotel sits right in the university quarter, which means you’re surrounded by that vibrant student energy, but somehow the 15th-century walls keep things surprisingly quiet inside.

The whole setup feels more like staying in someone’s beautifully renovated palazzo than a typical hotel. I mean, they’ve kept all the original architectural details – those gorgeous frescoed ceilings and stone archways – but somehow made it feel completely modern without being sterile. The rooms have this perfect balance where you’re sleeping under centuries-old beams but the bathroom has that rainfall shower you actually want to use. What really got me was how the staff just… knows things. Like, they’ll casually mention that the morning light hits Piazza Maggiore perfectly around 9 AM, or that the best tortellini spot (not the touristy one) is literally a three-minute walk down Via delle Belle Arti.

Speaking of location – and I hate when people just say “convenient location” because what does that even mean – but this spot is genuinely perfect if you want to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives here. You’re a two-minute walk from the university area where students hang out at those tiny osterie, but you can also reach the main shopping streets around Via dell’Indipendenza without dealing with crowds. The morning sounds are just right too – you’ll hear the gentle clatter of delivery bikes and coffee machines starting up, but none of that jarring city noise that makes you want to hide under the covers. I stayed there during exam season in May, and even with all the students around, the hotel felt like this calm pocket of serenity. The 8.8 rating honestly makes sense – it’s not trying to be some flashy luxury experience, but everything just works the way it should. Oh, and parking is actually manageable in the nearby streets if you’re driving, which is pretty much a miracle in Bologna’s centro storico.

  Πολυ ωραια διακοσμηση ακριβως οπως τις φωτογραφιες.Ανετο και καθαρο ειχε ολα οσα χρειαστηκαμε για την διαμονη μας.Με πολυ ομορφο μπαλκονι .Η Μαρελλα μας υποδεχθηκε για να μας παραδωσει τα κλειδια και μας βοηθησε πολυ και τις επομενες μερες .Πολυ καλη !!!!

  Locatie excelentă, în apropiere de obiectivele principale Bucătăria dotată cu vesela necesară pentru gătit. Check in și check out facile…gazda a fost de acord sa ne dea cheile cu 3 ore înainte.Apartamentul arata exact ca in poze, e curat și patul și canapeaua sunt foarte confortabile.
