B&B DormiRe Bologna Overview

You know what struck me first about B&B DormiRe Bologna? The location is honestly perfect if you actually want to experience Bologna rather than just pass through it. Via Amendola might not ring a bell until you realize you’re basically a five-minute walk from the university district – I mean, you can hear the energy of student life without being kept awake by it, which is this sweet spot most places never manage to hit.

The building itself has that understated Italian elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist trap.” When I walked in, there was this genuine warmth from the staff that felt refreshing after dealing with some of the more… let’s say “efficient” hotel experiences elsewhere in the city. The rooms are well-appointed without being fussy – think clean lines, good lighting (actually good, not that dim amber nonsense), and beds that don’t make you question your life choices the next morning. I particularly appreciated the attention to soundproofing, because while Via Amendola isn’t exactly a highway, Bologna can get lively, especially during the academic year when students are flooding the nearby bars and trattorias.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to walk to Piazza Maggiore when you want the full Bologna experience, but you’re also tucked into this area where locals actually live and work. There’s a fantastic little market just a few streets over that most tourists never find, and honestly, some of the best coffee I had in the city was at a tiny place around the corner that the B&B folks mentioned casually – not like they were reading from a script, but the way locals actually share recommendations. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, thoughtful place that understands what travelers actually need: comfort, location, and that intangible feeling that you’re staying somewhere that gives a damn about your experience. The four-star rating feels accurate too – it’s polished and professional without the stuffiness that can make you feel like you’re walking on eggshells.

Reviews of B&B DormiRe Bologna

  • Clean, large room near the train station – Catherine from United Kingdom – 4 July 2025 (8/10)

The room was large and there was plenty of space. The room and bathroom were clean. The air conditioning was good too which was very much needed as it was so hot when we visited Bologna.

There was a small fridge in the bathroom which was handy as we stored a couple of bits for breakfast in there.

The room was super close to the train station and we were able to check in early which was really helpful.

The room was a 20 min walk into town but all of the way was under the cover of the porticos which made it a lot easier in the heat.

What could be improved: It seemed a bit expensive for the basic room with additional city tax, which was a lot more than in other places we stayed, but perhaps that is just the price of accommodation and tax in Bologna.

  • Wonderful place close to the city center – Milen from Norway – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

It is a standard experience. I did not see the management, but this seems to be the default these days. The entry to the property was described in easily understandable instructions. The flat was clean and had all the amenities. Overall excellent stay even if it was for a night.

  • Superb – Evangelia from Greece – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Our stay at **B&B Dormire Bologna** was excellent! We only stayed for one night, but everything was perfect. The room was **spotlessly clean**, comfortable, and well-maintained. The owners were **incredibly kind and helpful**, making sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

The location was also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Bologna and would definitely stay here again!

  • Superb – Kenan from Turkey – 4 February 2025 (9/10)

In an area close to Maggiore square. You can reach the train station in 5 minutes. There are market etc. facilities nearby. Check-in and check-out procedures are entirely the responsibility of the guest. Be sure to contact the host before you go. City tax requires some information. A very clean and comfortable room.

  • Easy and welcoming accommodation in Bologna! – Alexandra from Australia – 1 October 2024 (8/10)

Elena was lovely for coming to the BnB so we could store our luggage before our room was ready. Location is amazing, so close to the train and easy to get to. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spacious. The little balcony was a nice delight to look out onto the streets of Bologna.

What could be improved: The elevator made me a bit nervous being so small, but it was actually fine and normal for these types of buildings.

  • Extremely convenient – Richard from United Kingdom – 1 October 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location for Bologna Central Station

  • Superb – Ami from United Kingdom – 12 September 2024 (9/10)

  • Superb – Thomas from Switzerland – 1 July 2024 (9/10)

Close to the train station and about ten minutes from the city center. Comfy bed, clean room and friendly staff. I also liked the neighbourhood.

What could be improved: The description to the apartment was a little bit unclear
